I prefer when the whole sentences are reversed, like how Paul Dini's been portrayed her these past 10+years... NOINIPO YM NI RETTEB TOL ELOHW A S'TI!

Though I'd have preferred a more Shadowpact-y team than this Vertigo-inspired team. (but that's just a personal taste)

I have another Enchantress story to post soonish.

I got this one on a whim, and it made a welcome contrast to Firestorm. I have no idea where either story is headed, but where the former was confusing, this was intriguing. It makes me want to read more, and that's a Good Thing.

It's interesting that the titles I've seen that I like best in the NuDC are the darker/supernatural ones. Demon Knights, Animal Man, Swamp Thing, this, and Wonder Woman's new direction. Blue Beetle is the outlier, being a lot closer to traditional superhero stuff.

Really makes me wonder if I should pick up All Star Western.

Maybe because those titles, at their heart, are inspired more by Vertigo than superhero stories?

Maybe, maybe. Although I never read Vertigo titles so I wouldn't know from that. Swamp Thing reminds me a little of the pre-Vertigo days, though.

This reminds me of the opening of the first issue of Xombi, he could fit well on this team David Kim was awesome and use to fighting magic.

I'm wondering how much of Zee and Batman's past still exists. I liked them here, though I think Zee must have been talking about DC the COMPANY more than the universe when asserting Bruce's importance versus her own. She's been pretty instrumental in saving the universe a few times. Batman is more effective on a local level.
I AM loving both the return of Madame Xanadu's eyes and her status in the new U!

Also, props for remembering that Superman is vulnerable to magic. I haven't seen that nearly as often as the Kryptonite thing.

Whichever editor they have in charge of all the Dark comics knows what they're doing.

I'll also note that both this and DK have large portions of females in the cast.

Yes. Possibly best book of the reboot. The extra pages really helped.

I am wondering that myself. The Zatanna/Batman thing that Dini pushed (but later dropped) was picked up by other writers (McDuffie in JLA, the guys who wrote the Batman/Superman book) so maybe DC decided to keep that connection in the reboot (and I admit Zatanna became my second favorite love interest for Bats after Selina too) Too bad Didio also says Identity Crisis is still in-continuity (in some form) so the mind-wipe might be as well (which would make her using magic here against him AGAIN all the worse even if for "good reasons").

I was really prepared to hate this, but it ain't bad, really.

I'm still quite puzzled as to how this works with Hellblazer, though I guess John occasionally acknowledges the rest of the DC universe, it's just that he ignores it and does his own thing. (Swamp Thing, Zatanna, and the Phantom Stranger show up in his book from time to time.)
