Young Justice: Batcameos!

Yeah, so episode twelve of the series aired yesterday. Overall it was a good character building thing for Artemis (though it now seems that reading the comic is required reading to see what's going on in regard to her backstory), though the episode wasn't really the best one in the series.

It DID however present two amusing cameos as Artemis started going to Gotham Academy, the expensive school that Dick Grayson attends.

	though it now seems that reading the comic is required reading to see what's going on in regard to her backstory I wouldn't really say that. The major items of information that the comic gave us, that her mom had an extended stay in prison and that she was raised by her dad during that time, are explained in the episode. 	They've done it in a lot of episodes--I remember seeing an interview with Weisman about Spectacular Spider-Man and saying about the cameo that he never wanted to make up a new name for the show if he couldn't help it, and it looks like, with the exception of creating Kaldur and revamping Artemis, that he's doing the same here. I think it was just that Robin was more experienced and calling the shots. But she took initiative several times herself, and Robin didn't even have to tell her to turn on the showers in that one scene before she knew what to do. She located a bunch of their escape routes as well. She's not as good, but she's still good.

And I think the whole episode was ultimately about her gaining courage/resolve because for the sake of her friends.

I adored this episode; it was great to see a new character combination for bonding, and I like that it gave Robin and Artemis the opportunity to show their stuff. Plus, the cameos were more valuable than gold.

Still debating whether or not Robin will now be the one to uncover Artemis' identity/backstory. Unless Cheshire or Sportsmaster decide to drop the bomb on everyone.

I am still fuming that nobody seems to care about poor Kaldur, though. He was in just as much danger as Miss Martian, except she was unconscious, but the whole episode was "IS M'GANN OKAY?!" "HOW'S M'GANN DOING?!" "M'GANN!!!" I like her character but jeezus guys, worry about Kaldur too D:

	Yeah I was all "Kaldur's right there Conner!" Course others on tumblr have pointed out Kaldur had to be OK since he was clearly visually awake but Megan was unconscious which is never good, especially in near death situations. (Reply to this) (Thread from start) (Parent)

Given how Robin was acting in the teaser, I would hazard a guess that Batman told him.

"Reprogram the emitter from X-rays to EMPs!" Science does not work that way, Wally. Just... what? Jay and Barry are scientists, you should listen to them more.

I mean, okay, so he's making an EMP bomb to disable two robots that can control water and fire. There's clearly SCIENCE afoot. If the EMP bomb counts as SCIENCE instead of mere lower-case science, I guess that's okay.
