Who says Jean will be with Scott? Seriously with how things ended and then Scott shacking up with Emma when her body isn't cold. Yeaa...I'm actually hoping they don't get back together. That and if that was the case Jean and Scott would be all about each other and sorry that's just nerve racking, let them grow.

Honestly, I will rage so hard if Jean comes back and they put her and Scott back together. Scott's always had a bit of the wandering eye and the whole "affair" with Emma made me want Jean to dump him for good and finally move on. Especially when Scott had his ridiculous defense where he was saying, "We weren't having an affair, it was just in our heads!" to a TELEPATH. Hello, Scott, you and Jean had a psychic bond for God's sakes, you know that stuff isn't "just in your head" for people who are telepathic. Idiot. Honestly, while in recent years I haven't really liked a lot of things that Scott has been doing, I don't hate him or anything, but I do think that Jean is too good for him. Heck, I think Emma is too good for him, too.

Scott only gained a wandering eye when editorial decided to screw him over again and again. Scott's one of the few on-screen characters who spent more than single issue or panel actually honest-to-goodness MOURNING his dead love. Back when she was THE big character death.

Then Claremont had him fall in love with a surrogate, Maddy Pryor. That was going to play out...but then Marvel decided to bring Jean back so they could do X-factor. And since it was a rapid decision, they did it by essentially turning Cyclops into a massive dickhead who abandons his family with virtually no angst over the choice.

Marvel then recemented this concept for a while and then Morrison came on board and decided to shake up the status quo by having Cyclops cheat on his wife psychically while being seduced by Emma who was dressed as Jean? Whuh?

Cyclops used to be one of my favorite characters...but Marvel seems determined to make him a bad guy. But then, that's the same path his mentor was forced to walk, so I don't know why I'm surprised.

No, Scott has a wandering eye. It doesn't matter if it was editorial mandate, or a writer's disdain for the character--his history is what it is. He cheated on Maddy with Jean, and on Jean with Emma. It's in character for who the character is today.

Tbh, both Jean and Scott have had wandering eyes, though with Jean it was just her tension with Logan (who, might i add, she never really made out with 247 in the 616 universe like every other shocker!cover seemed to imply), which had been put to rest for a long while from what I recall before morrison brought it back when jean was desperate and scott and she were emotionally disconnecting.

Their love is an interesting one, to me, no doubt about it, because as perfect as it tried to be portrayed there was just too much crap they went through that made them grow apart, but it was still a very strong and real love. Just not the type that keeps two people happy together forever? But there will no doubt be anyone as influential in scott's or jean's life.

And yeah Scott abandoning his family was just the last straw there, plus what a self-involved doucher he seemed in the whole emma affair.
