I have always disliked the term skank, an ugly sounding word with an ugly meaning. I certainly don't like an ostensible hero using it, even if it is to provoke the baddies to make a mistake.

It took you out of the comic? It annoyed me, and made me dislike the gal a bit, but it doesn't seem weird enough to take me out of the comic.

(Now, since it took a page and change for one of them to mention that they were watching a recording of what happened to Alpha, not a live feed, the fact that for the duration of that page I thought she and Ollie were calmly watching a man (even a wannabe thrill-seeking villain) get beaten to death without lifting a finger to stop it - THAT took me out of it briefly.)

Seriously, has this guy ever smiled? Ever? In his life? It's like they took the idea of Bruce Wayne and took away all levity and sense of humor whatsoever.

I don't like this guy. One facial expression, no passion in anything he's doing other than INTENSE GLARE. Bleh, do not want.

Yeah that comment was a real wtf for me and I was enjoying the issue(I still did). It was like way to target a group, who often reads comics.

The parts where he was with his friends he was a lot more light hearted, the old guy just brings tension and its hard to smile in a fight.

And I understand why skank offends you all, but a part of this series seems to rail against the way pop culture glamours negetive behavior(Gangsters, out of control rich girls, recklessness). The women in this villian gang he is fighting seem to be the spoiled reality tv starlets we see in real life, with superpowers. Coupled with the fact that this is Oliver "my way or the highway"Queen its not surprising if he painted that vulgar of a picture of them.

I feel like I should be more offended, but sometimes its nice to have a hero who wont kill, but at the same time does not give a fuck about generally anything in between(including the bad guys feelings). Honestly I do not know how most heroes stay so polite with the person trying to kill them. Besides its Green fucking Arrow who doesn't expect this from him now, oddly enough he has not had sex in the new dc yet.

Completely took me out of the comic. Maybe it was the fact that a techie was saying those line that really made it still. More likely I am just so tired of that same old line of garbage. Books have "killed" more people than video games have even thought about killing.

You know, I'm 26 years old now and I'm still waiting for that day where I'm supposed to just snap and go shoot up my neighborhood because I enjoy killing zombies and crap in video games. Maybe give it a few more years.

Anyone else find it hilarious that we have this character going on about violent video games while there is a comic panel right next to her of some guy punching his hand into someone's chest? Yep, them games are a bad influence, so read comics instead. Nobody ever gets killed or maimed in comics, right? :p

As for Ollie in this, I've never really been a Green Arrow fan, but from stuff I have read/seen with him, this just seems off. The first pages with him skipping work to play basketball come off as very Tony Stark to me. Also, they need to just give him back the goatee. Don't tease it with the stubble, just put it back.

Because Alfred would wash their mouths out with soap (and yes, that includes ALL the superheroes, but just the Batclan, because Alfred is just that awesome)

I cheerfully admit to setting unrealistically high standards of my heroes, but that's why they are SUPERheroes IMHO.

You can make a case that video games are more active than comic books, where the reader's experience is still a very passive one.

Even in video games, the active-ness of players in a story is important. I felt a lot worse in the final Desmond/Lucy scene of Assassin's Creed Brotherhood than I did when Andrew Ryan and Jack did Golf in Bioshock. in Brotherhood, the game made me do something that I, as a player did not want to do.

However... their main point, that if people kill people in video games then how hard can it be to do it in real life is nonsense
