Hey everyone!
Eyz here. This is my first post ever on scans-daily!
'been following s-d for quite some time now (but still a noob regarding posting/commenting so forgive me in any case!)

Here's a little webcomic parody by writer and artist Aaron Diaz, author of the comic "Dresden Codak". In which they point out and make fun of stereotypical superheroine costumes. More specifically, Wonder Woman and PG's respective costumes.

I thought it deserved a little mention here :P

And for legality, PeeGee's origin as depicted by Adam Hughes:

Baby Peege sucking her thumb in that panel always makes me d'awwwww. ♥

Also that webcomic is spot on about things that can go wrong with those costumes, even if comics do defy the laws of physics. However, the artist/writer does leave out the bit about boobs popping out of shirts like Wondy's when you sprint or fight. As a skinny but big breasted woman myself, I've had the misfortune of having my girls bounce out of their casing during both kickboxing and running. It's enough to say I can't so much jog without literally holding my gals in place. :(

Using the boob window or the metal thing as handles = closing up the distance between you and the superpowered lady you're attacking. Making it that much easier for her to punch you in the face.

Agreed so much about the lack of shoulder support, though. It's especially jarring for Black Canary.

If you're going to go hand to hand with WW or PG, you're either a complete moron and in line for a Darwin award anyway or you've got super powers yourself.

Though on the subject of the boob-window making for an easy target for an opponent to grab, you can also say the same thing about capes, hoods, belts and so forth.

Not that I don't disagree with what they're saying here.

That's what I think of each time I see a cape especially. But the thing that really floors me is how very rarely it occurs to an opponent to grab a cape in order to knock 'em down and trip them up, especially if they use it to blind them.

Classic WW flew because she had control over air currents. Not sure if that's changed over the years, but if it still holds the "drag" (not THAT sort of drag!) wouldn't be an issue.

She changed from "gliding on air currents" to "outright flight" in the Perez reboot in 1987 or so.

Oh, and she could never control air currents, she could only use the ones that were already available, it's why she usually needed to gain a little height before launching into the air and why she used the invisible plane so much, it was a lot more reliable, and faster.

During an operation I'd rather not remember (I had quite a few less living friends after that day) I ended up running over a marathon back to friendly territory after a nasty blow to the groin. A year later I got kicked when I wasn't wearing a cup in a training drill and barely felt it, the lesson here is that get hit hard enough and you actually lose sensation in your rocks (not fun in bed, but useful in a fight.) Here's a guy who makes my story look like a mole on an elephant's ass in comparison:

I don't get the WTF HEELS? thing. She's a flyer. She can wear whatever she wants on her feet because she doesn't use them for walking. If she wanted, Wonder Woman could fly around with gophers strapped to her feet. It wouldn't matter.

Also, not sure if Power Girl would flap in the wind, seeing as her bra is probably made out of the same stuff Citizen Steel's costume is made out of. What'sitmacalled. Steel.

Other than that, this seems fair. Wonder Woman's lack of straps is somewhat bothersome.

The nudist webcomic Loxie and Zoot had a not too dissimilar comment on cleavage and crime fighting(NSFW) the cops were going undercover at the nudist resort to track some jewel thieves. The rather well endowed Federal agent was having trouble keeping up during a foot chase.

PeeGee's got invulnerability, so the wind resistance wouldn't hurt her.

But you know...I've yet to see a version of Power Girl's costume without the window that looks in any way good. It just feels...empty.

I always thought Wonder Woman was wearing a firm, rigid corset style bodice? Those (when well-fitted) are super-comfortable and supportive and leave the shoulders and arms free for punching. Lots of punching.

I always liked the interpretation of Wondy's costume as a red leather cuirass with metal reinforcement (the eagle or stylized W's). More warrior-ish.
