Trailer for The Avengers - first "real" one

We still don't know who the enemy is (my money on Skrulls), I don't believe it's Loki
I already ship Natasha/Loki
Steve has a gun, all is right with the world
Don't like how they just attached Hulk at the end - is he in the film for just 3 seconds?

	I really, really wish this had been them finally letting the REST of us see the one they released at D23, but it's still good. Somewhat similar structure--they only had Hulk at the very end there, too, presumably because very, very little of the footage of him is ready yet. (Reply to this)

	I'm just happy I'm not the only one freaking out. So far, it looks good and I don't think Natasha and Clint will get too little focus. I agree that the lack of Hulk is probably from lack of rendering. 	Judging from the cancelled tie-in game, Loki is teaming up with Skrulls. Though the game had Skulls with X-Men and Fantastic Four powers, when both groups don't exist in the Marvel Movieverse as far as I'm aware as they're owned by different film studios. Well, given they're a primarily FF associated thing, it's a surprise Marvel can use the Skrull at all. That said, they might have sold their rights to characters like the FF and X-Men, but there's no way that they could've sold the rights to the specific powers Skrull are known for having.

And X-Men/FF are both Fox owned movie properties, which is a damn, damn shame.

	Even if every other inevitable sequel and Marvel movie with these characters fails miserably, I think this will work out to be amazing. FIve years of teasers and planning, a weall picked and talented cast, and a director who is not only talented but can really get behind the source material. After this, who knows. THis, will be good. Well, only the Wasp was in the original line-up as a female, I guess it's unfortunately fairly accurate.

I seriously do NOT want the soap opera level drama mess of a team that is the West Coast Avengers anywhere near this movie. Scarlet Witch, Mockingbird, nonononononononononono...

Tigra would be cool though. And I expect Wasp would appear sooner or later in one of the movies.

	I think Stark/Downey Jr. will be much more interesting in a group dynamic. Competition amongst proven equals makes for much better snark potential than Iron Man 2, where he had no equals, just underlings. He seemed bored in the last movie, though maybe I'm just projecting. I agree, despite all those explosions at the start (thought I'd been trolled and was watching a Transformers clip), a lot of the preview just didn't add up to anything for me. Re-watched one of the trailers for Watchmen the other day, and felt how supremely it made it seem to be about a group of masked adventurers, AND THAT STORY'S NOT EVEN ABOUT A TEAM! IT WAS A MARKETING TRICK!

One thing in particular I didn't see was ANY snapshot of Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill (she a one-off like Olivia Munn in Iron Man 2? We'll see). Remains to be seen how much of the actual Avengers team she'll be.

One possibility I wonder about (especially with Whedon at the helm) is a scene of Fury going over a database list of potential recruits, and that lists more female names.

All in all, beyond wondering what course the plot of the Marvel Cinematic Universe takes, I've not seen the "reason" I will love this movie.

And yet, I remain convinced the final product be more than the sum of its parts.

Hawkeye was already set up in Thor a little. And again, Wasp might be tied up in the stuff surrounding the Edgar Wright Antman movie that's still being produced.

I think she could be one of the trickier characters to do, anyway. Unless you go the Ultimate route and blandly make her a scientist, you have to explain what a non-genius socialite is doing with superpowers on a government payrolled superhero team.
