salinea: Magneto going *?* (wtf)

Schismatics

(About 3 pages in all from X-Men regenesis)

While I still find that whole caveman metaphor thingy to be one of the most painfully stupid thing I've ever seen - that was a nice issue finally seeing everyone try to decide what to chose.

LOL Hank. (if only you didn't go to the side that resurrected the X-Force right after Scott disbanded it, y'know. You'd be better starting a third side, just saying >_>)

Much as I do not like those two together, I thought that was a pretty cute sequence. :)

Well, I dunno, but anything with the X-kids has my attention! Speaking of which:

(There was also a nice sequence between Laurie & Hope, dealing with the aftermath of Schism, but it's a bit too long for me to post).

Yeah, I don't think he needs propose a convincing argument. Scot is the pragmatic and realistic one, but Logan's basically just "I want to let kids be kids and educate them regardless of what we know is out there, because that's more important than fighting."

That's why Aaron and Gillen said that the dynamic will not be two opposing teams, but rather one where Scott's side is going to patronize Logan's side in a "Yeah, go ahead and play school; us big boys over here will always come to protect you, you naive kids" way.

I think that Magneto staying on Utopia and calling it 'his life's work' is probably all the argument Logan needs against Scott. The man's meandered back and forth across the good/evil line that many times it's a joke, and that the guy is willing to kneel before Scott and commend him says it all. Scott might be the general, but he's leaning closer and closer to warlord, these days.

Logan's approach might be 'back to basics', but I'd wager it's something that a few of the X-Men need right now. Personally, I'm just disappointed Ali's sticking with Scott.

I think Scott is doing what he needs to be doing. he's keeping them alive. What does wolverine think is going to happen, that school got attacked so often it happend in ANOTHER UNIVERSE (see Teen Titans #1). he can have all the fail safes money can buy, and the kids WILL still have to fight.

Wolverine STILL runs his own hit squad (Which is another reason Beast joining him feels... wrong...)

Wolverine is all about, Kids being kids. But heaven help any of them HE deems TOO DANGEROUS... He IS trying to kill Wicccan right now... Hell he wanted to kill Quentin (until he found a use for him).

Im not saying wolverine doesn't have some point. But so does Cyclops. Instead of fighting why not TRY to do what the old school did. TEACH them to be kids... but also TEACH them to defend themselves....

Another thing. Wolverine starting a school, when he SHOULD have been teaching before. Cyclops already said he had been shirking his teaching duties... now all of a sudden he wants to RUN a school...?

I don't think either man is entirely right, but it sure is a pleasure to watch Logan finally start to grow up.

I said "start". I didn't say he was anywhere near finished. Aaron's had him making baby steps in his own title; it's starting to carry over.

Scott hasn't been about compromise in a long time. Remember his conversation with Madrox when X-Factor came to visit. I think a bit more remorse and a willingness to compromise on his part would have prevented the entire split.

didn't he extend an olive branch after the fight. even before the fight? (yes, he DID say that Logan should appologize to him, that was a but presumptuous) didn't he say they could talk about it, just once the physical and emotional wounds healed?

But the wounds weren't going to heal properly without some salve first.

.... okay, think i got lost, were we talking figurative salve, which would be the neccessity to separate NOW and then sort out everything later once you get your barings back.

or was this humor saying that the they need time for thier real wounds to heal... ithink i thought too much into this... :D

No, it means Scott sucks at managing emotional damage control. Or triage, if you want to continue the metaphor.

Some emotional wounds require immediate attention.

“but it sure is a pleasure to watch Logan finally start to grow up.”

If that happens...

i don't really see this as growing up... i see this more as, "Screw you scott. instead of working with you and trying to find a rational compromise between protecting our race and allowing the kids to be kids, i am going to run off, split our already weakened ranks, and start my own group, but keeping my kill squad!"
