Three scans from X-Men: Regenesis in which Emma explains her decision

I like How Emma basically lays it out. She loves to teach, and flat out says that for the most part, all they ever do is train. More importantly, she states that the difference between training and teaching is the important thing. She also lays it out that Scott has been taking her for granted, assuming she would automatically side with him, and not acknowledging that she has in fact given up alot to support him.

I hope that this means a)teaching will return to Utopia, b) Scott shapes up when it comes to his relationships

I must say, i am LOVING Cave Emma's outfit!

Keep in mind, aside from the kids and Scott, Emma loves Money, she is essentially giving up her fortune bankrolling Utopia.

I gotta give ups to Emma and folks like Tony Stark.

No matter how you cut it, bankrolling a super-operation would be expensive!

Like, how the fuck do you get site, building and liability insurance for it?

In fact, that would make an awesome Marvel back-up: Rex Carter, Super-Accountant.

Bobby Drake is a super-accountant, but they're losing him to Wolverine.

Oh ok. This might boarder on sexist, so if it is please let me know and I will delete this comment....

I could TOTALLY see Emma gaining weight for the sole purpose of being able to chip off the extra weight to subsidize the team :D

I had a sudden image of Emma being sent a ton of milkshakes and hamburgers to get her fat, but that's just not Emma's style at all. Souffle, maybe? Pate de foie gras?

The milkshakes would be served in wine glasses and the burgers would be eaten with knife and fork in a most dignified manner.

I've found that most people fail to consider the potential of certain superpowers. Frequently even a mundane ability like being able to speed up plant growth can be fearsome in the right hands (imagine a tree growing a root that cuts a major underground powerline, then image someone walked around the city doing this all night long).

The idea of Emma put on weight to get money for the X-Men is brilliant. Normally I question whether her pieces would stay diamond but given that she's been broken into pieces the only problem would be if her telepathy is linked to this power since her main body transforming back could cause her jewels to... become squishy.

Actually, dozens of the x-folks should be multi-millionaires.

Bobby, Piotr, Danger, The psionics, Idie, etc.

The commercial aspects of their powers is off the charts.

Wrote a story once about a group of low-level psychics who used their powers for various business related things. (One kept morale up throughout the company, another one sat in stores and subtly encouraged people to buy, etc.)

I think most super powers could make you rich, really.

But I think that might fall into the ethically questionable, when you use your psychic powers to influence them mentally. Other powers don't usually have that same problem.

All too often the psychics on various X-teams don't seem to have a problem with the ethical quibbles of manipulating another person's mind.

Of course, I've always been annoyed by Claremont's habit of having Rachael Summers flip out on some bystander for having lewd thoughts about her - which she is violating the privacy of their minds to read in the first place.

Yeah, but imagine if it only stays diamond for as long as she does. gemstones suddenly becoming tiny little raw Emma McNuggets (There's a phrase that will haunt me) would be deeply disturbing.
