So just a quick question, considering I don't read this one:

This is not the same Tyroc as before, right?

AFAIK we've got no reason to believe that it's a new one, what makes you think it is?

I don't read legion, so is there a normal member named Tyroc? Because I'm thinking of the infamous black Tyroc.

As far as I'm aware, that's him. I don't know what makes him infamous, however.

Tyroc's introduction into the Legion is seen as something of a not terribly high spot of the series. It wasn't enough that they had a black Legionnaire, it had to be a black Legionnaire who was from a sort of island Brigadoon, directly descended from escaped black slaves who had made a completely non-white culture for themselves in their islands pocket dimension and who inherently distrusted white folks. It was, I'm sure, all very well intentioned, but it didn't come across particularly well.

And that is the extent of my knowledge of him. I actually thought he had been erased from continuity. That's why it seemed weird to me when I saw his name.

You do realize though that Grell is on the record saying he meant that to be a stupid and awful design? (He wasn't keen on the manner of Tyroc's backstory and thought it was racist)
