So this is, what, the eighth or ninth time Phoenix has come back? I mean, I know she's called "Phoenix", but come on.

(One of these days I'd like to see Phoenix and Galactus both show up above Earth at the same time and get into a slap fight over who's going to destroy what.)

That's how Marvel has been promoting it for a few weeks now.. so until further update. Unless someone at NYCC can add further clarification.

Technically Jean has only died twice, and those were in such short succession they might be best seen as part of the one cycle.

The first time, the Phoenix wasn't Jean and the real Jean was in a life support coccon. Jeanix later appeared to die, but the Phoenix was still around.

The first time she actually died was when IIRC Logan killed her to spare her a painful death and instead it activated the full power of the Phoenix.

The second time was shortly thereafter when Mag-not-o (I've given up trying to work out who the hell that was after the retcons) killed her with an EMP pulse to the brain.

Yawn. They can't even wrap up the current event efficiently, get it out the gate and let the dust settle before they start peddling the next turkey of an event, can they? And I like that, despite the presence of Aaron, practically everyone listed as talent probably has one or two events to their name. Can Bendis stop writing events and just do regular books, please? Every event he's done save for little bits of Siege have been turkeys.

They literally didn't add much of anything, from what I heard. This is the biggest amount of info we got so far with the vague creative team.

I'm going against the majority here it seems but I can't wait. The first ever X-Men comic book I read was The Phoenix saga, back in the days when I only knew Spider-Man, Punisher and maybe that riddick guy with a shield (what a clown). It made me fell in love with Nightcrawler X-Men and while the love eventually died, Phoenix stayed with me as the ultimate X-Men experience.

Oh boy Jean is coming back... or at least they'll explain why Hope has the Phoenix thing in her eye (remember that little detail WAY BACK?).... it's the latter, they'll never bring back Jean: otherwise will miss out all the cheap, pointless, shallow bed scenes with Scott and Emma, the X-Men comics won't be the same without that, afterall: Why should the leaders and representers of Mutant Kind act with some moral in their lives, such as having sex with someone who isn't his wife whom he has a deep connection with and is lucky enough to have her again in spite of her deaths, something most people WISH that would happen to them for just once....

Don't care, won't buy it. Not just because I stopped caring about that cosmic-powered parrot and its redheaded Mary Sue host years ago, but because going by the list of the creators there it won't be well-written.

Ah but remember, it wasn't not-Xorn/Magneto, nor was it the Xorn that Magneto apparently pretended to be, but it was the BROTHER of the Xorn that Magneto apparently pretended to be, but did so by impersonating Magneto impersonating his brother and at this point my head doesn't actually explode (The apathy I feel towards the situation deals with that) but does come to a screeching halt!

Aggh, I *so* don't care about Phoenix compared to the other X-men stuff.
