"if i was batman i would be SOOO annoyed at everyone asking me 'What can YOU do?'"
And people wonder why he created files on the Justice League and how to beat them. "They wanna see what I can do? Oh, I'll show 'em--one foot out of line and I'll show 'em ALL..."
How that scene feels to me? "what can you do, Batman?" "I am totally awesome and stuff and don't need superpowers" "So there's NOTHING you can do then" "I'm Batman"
Anyone else find it cute how Supes and Bats are already just kind of chatting with each other while Barry and Hal are actually trying to figure out what's up with the box?
Apart from beer and girls, he brings a general drive that is not over optimistic(superman), or gritty(batman). Although he is a wild dude at heart and is flexible he brings a sense of rules to the table(that are not overbearing and damn near un attainable like batman and superman). I part among all the Alpha Males of DC he is just the most human.
And since someone brought up Barry I will say he brings quick wit, calm nerves, and a much needed no it all personality(the good kind of no it all) He is also generally one of the more approachable charachters.
If the JLA did throw a party Hal would be the one making sure everyone was haveing as much fun as they can, but still guarding the line making sure the fun did not go out of hand. Barry would be the nice guy in the cennter of the crowd kind of gravitating to everyone...he also brings a guitar.
Green Lantern derrieres are almost as epic as Grayson''s and Atlee's. Hal, Guy, Kyle, and John all get their fifteen minutes off ass-shot fame. On the distaff side, you've got Soranik Natu, Laira and that butterfly alien girl.
With the new cape design, we are seeing a lot more of Superman's ass, I notice. Not a universe-championship ass, I'll grant you, but it's quite nice all the same.
One thing I've noticed about Jim Lee's art is that it actually has quite a bit of equal opportunity fan service. I know I've read quite a few things he's worked on where I'll be like, "Wow, Clark/Bruce/whoever has a really nice butt".
I can't do it. I just can't see that costume as Superman. I can accept Batman's outfit, the Flash and Green Lantern...but Superman looks like some OTHER dude. He just doesn't seem like the real Superman in that outfit.
The writing here seems really...stilted. I'm not sure if it's because I'm jaded. It's not really bad, per se, it just feels unnatural. Like Johns was trying to go strong on each characters dominant trait, but really isn't quite nailing them, somehow.

"Batman, can you use your sonar powers to see how many baddies are inside?"
"Erm... yea, I can do that..."
*connects to thermal imaging satellite*
"Batman, why do you drive around in a car instead of flying?"
"My arms are really tired"
"Batman, this city owes you a great debt. Here's a big bag of goats blood and some delicious beetles for you to enjoy"
"... Thank you?"

"Because if you had a badass looking car to drive around in, wouldn't you, Superman?"
"Hmm...you have a point there!"
And thus, the terrible idea of the Supermobile was born.

My not-so-inner fangirl is squealing and wringing her hands helplessly over everything they say to each other this issue.

I might pick this up, depending on reviews.
