I LOVE how Azz is portraying the Gods--twisted and evil, but in a way that feels oddly human, except for Hermes, who seems like a cool cat and has some wit of his own.

Also, I find it interesting that we find about about WW's paternity through a character who's chief power is to misdirect and deceive people, in a way where she probably knew her mother would be watching, and the tagline for the next issue is "ancient & untrue." Makes me wonder if DC is actually deceiving us and it's more in-line with what we know of WW's origin.

So who is the one who appears to be taking style tips from Sinead O'Connor and Delirium of the Endless?

Little Daddy Development aside I am loving this series so far. I love how the gods are being portrayed, although I am admittedly still a bit weirded out by Hermes being some kind of avian hybrid. Nice to see he hasn't lost his sense of humour or his more down-to-earth 'tude though. And how he did not slut-shame Zola when she told him that she was not going to apologize for sleeping around.

That's how you portray a sexually liberated woman.

So the second issue also has a woman randomly disrobing in the middle of a conversation, just like the first one did. Huh.

And Batwoman #1, for that matter. I guess this is the new wave of Strong Empowered Woman fan service.

Definitely still not as bad as I thought it would be, but the whole father angle just doesn't work for me.

I'm still going to miss Wonder Woman's original origin story. I like how in-human and non-practical it is. Making her "more human" is not my idea of interesting, it's my idea of making her more like everyone else.

And I really don't like that image of Hippolyta going to sleep on the beach and waking up the next morning seeing a baby Diana there now that Zeus is involved. It feels more like good timing rape than motherly love blessed by the gods. I still remember seeing that panel where Hippolyta is holding up Diana and declaring her everyone's daughter. It was tangible joy!

Feels a lot like Xena... but with less lesbianism. So far. Not terrible, but not really interesting to me at all.

As much as I enjoy this book, I am still deeply underwhelmed at Zeus being her father. Just no...it's not needed and just extremely unncessary. Plus it's stupid and just tiring by this point. I prefer her being Athena's champion.

Is it okay if I love Hermes forever? I'm gonna do it anyway, just wondering if I should feel bad about it.

I'd totally read a book that was just this version of Diana, Hermes and Zola sniping at each other. In fact, I think that's what Azarello is planning.

I am delighted that Wonder Woman's top actually covers something, and looks like it could stay on and stay up, even if she does something active. Like breathe...

I'm discouraged that this is rare enough to be noteworthy.

Hermes/Bird-Man mashup. Oh, I get it now. Is Triton going to be Mer-Man?

So, in what form is Zeus supposed to have come to Hippolyta? "I, Zeus, king of Olympus, came to you in the form of creative inspiration." Or was he the source of the water in the clay somehow? In any case, yet another way to make Diana's parentage "special," continuing with the plot-hook-aborting idea that there were no other little girl Amazons.

"He will choose a form that inspires uncontrollable lust in them".
Am I the only one thinking of the implications here? Leda was visited by a swan, Europa by a bull, and Danae by golden showers. So either Zeus has upped his game in recent years, or the Greeks liked them some strange.

Y'know it probably isn't but ever since I saw lady who is with Zeus' child I keep thinking "Is that you new Helena Sandsmark?" It'd be amusing if this was the new secret origin of Cassandra Sandsmark and set in the past like Action comics is.

Okay, i like Zola.... :D

also... Hera looks happy....

also... Dispite the fact that they said Zeus is her father, despite the fact that Discord/Eris/Strife is wearing the Lasso... doesn't mean she is telling the whole truth.

New theory: Maybe Zeus picked the extra kinky ones to make his extra-marital liasons count. (This has now summoned the image of Zeus trying to get Hera into bondage and failing)
Oh, and when Zeus visited Heracles' mother it was as her husband, so that's kind of sweet if you don't think about the whole rape thing. Which, if you are into mythology probably doesn't even register anymore.
