For such an "epic" event, the whole thing has been pretty underwhelming. Bucky got a crappy death, Juggernaut got taken off of the T-Bolts, and Thor is dead again even though we know it's only a matter of time before he returns.

Did they kill off Thor so people finally started caring for FI? A bit too late for this I'd say.

And if that was the idea...it really didn't work.

Poor Broxton, the Asgardians just keep moving out and then coming back. It must be getting annoying.

So they killed probably the best new (I know Bucky's technically one of the oldest marvel characters going but you know what I mean) character they've had in years, take Juggernaut off the thunderbolts, give a crap reason for breaking up Colossus and Kitty Pryde up and kill Thor when he's been on one of his hottest streak of good runs in his history, all for a pretty lame event that only had great art going for it?

Bravo Marvel, bravo...

Yes, a GOD is dead.

That ALWAYS lasts. ALWAYS. Gods NEVER come back.

This ending is UTTERLY CLIMACTIC.

Was there more drama in the lead up or something? Because not even the characters look or sound like they care.

"Thor's dead. Again."
*flip open The Asgardian Funeral, Your Dead God and You, Volume 1.5*
"Okay, we're gonna need three pillars, and some wood. Can someone get me some wood?"

(And seriously, they killed off Thor? ...Have they seen the NorseKink Meme? Okay, hopefully not, but huge market, right there.)

It would be nice if, at the very least, the character making a huge thing about the character who just died were one who himself hadn't just come back from the dead.

Yeah. Skimmed this in my LCS. I was not impressed.

Thanks Marvel. Kill him again after you just brought him back what, 4 years ago? All to cap off this seriously underwhelming story serving as the latest in a much-too-long line of extremely underwhelming "events".

They might as well announce that they don't want anyone to ever buy their books again and get it done with.

Holy shit. And I thought Blackest Night had some of the most frustrating deaths in a long time.

This is one of the more bad moves by Marvel. Really bad and Marvel has been handling their events wayyy better than this. IMO Secret Invasion was the company's biggest misstep prior to FI (if only for the pointless death of Janet and for the meh ending and non skrull related aftermath after YEARS of buildup).

But yeah killing Thor AGAIN (after a successful movie AND his title getting more attention now more than ever?) and killing Bucky (i was almost sure it was a fakeout)? WTF?

As epics go, this is like Brian Herbert's Dune in terms of technical competence and ability to captivate anything more than "Oh, is that how that happened" interest.

They should just have had shirtless Thor at the end, making paintings on a cave wall.

Ladies and gentleman, I give you Matt Fraction. Fresh off his run on the Uncanny X-Men, he proves once again that no one can kill a golden goose as thoroughly as he ca.! Let's give him a big round of raspberries!

Yes and no. Thor still died, but Loki managed to get Surtur to destroy Dark Asgard.

Is the replacement Thor scheduled to be around past May when the Avengers movie comes out?

Cause it would be funny if he came back just after only 6 issues, which would be like a week in comic time.

Actually, what's the shortest window between a major big 2 hero dying and being resurrected (in publishing time)?
