One has to ponder WHY Bruce had already checked the surveillance footage from a random event a week previously, since I can't see how he'd know it was relevant until Dick told him.

Let's see now... (pulls out the Batman protocols because Bruce is anal that way)... yup, because he's Batman.

I don't understand your question. He found out the guy had Dick's skin underneath his nails in the last issue, so he tracked the guy's final movements, and realized the guy attended a huge gala event that Dick was also attending. What's unbelievable about that?

Are you prepared for this. Are you seriously prepared for this. Knowing how Batman does it is never as cool as just seeing the results. THERE IS NO TURNING BACK.

Due warning aside, I see a couple of ways he could have found that out. A) He searched the victim's belongings and found a ticket for the gala, and then looked through the camera footage. B) He has cameras everywhere, because he has the money, resources, and insane drive to do so, and tracked where the victim was from the beginning of the day to its end. C) He pulled a Sherlock Holmes and, judging from the particular type of mud, the smell of popcorn distinct to Haley's Circus, and the fact that Dick has no reason to murder, he went looking for proof that they had contact outside of a murderer-victim relationship.

...Does that sound plausible?

Oh eminently plausible, but like any good detective story I want to be TOLD how the detective did it. Just "I know" is... unsatisfying in that respect.

Well, it probably took a few days or so in-between discovering the body with Dick's DNA to the actual autopsy. He knew that Dick had nothing to do with murder, so I would assume his next guess would be to see if anyone interacted with him recently during one of their society jaunts, where Dick might be less on his guard.

If he's working under the theory that Dick is being targeted, not Nightwing, he should focus on the civilian activities, since their adversary would be looking for Dick (although keeping his costumed activities in the picture, in case the person targeting him has figured it out).

the whhole thing with the 13th gargoyle was a nice twist and added to the whole gothem city feel. I just wonder how long Scott snyder will focus on the city, also since he loves architecture so much maybe he can write John Stewart.

John Stewart is not an architect, he's a badass Marine.... *rolls eyes*

Um I do not know if your serious or not, but for conversation purposes I will assume you are. John Stewart has always been an architect since his creation in the 1970s, but was reconnected to be a marine in the early 2000s(because they made him a soldier in the Justice League cartoon). Before that he has always just been an architect with no military experience, anyway he is still an architect by trade. I posted the first few pages of GL corps #1 last month and it shows him at his day job being guess what....an architect. I think they focus to much on him being a marine latly and not what the charachter used to be.

Meh it was a little snide, but also very wrong.

oh i am well aware of all of that. but what i am saying is that other than in GLC #1 there has been little to no mention of him being an architect for a very long time. Its always been Soldier this, and sniper that.... I miss the days when John was an interesting character. hell even in the JLU he was interesting. still think he needed to unclench, but he was interesting... here, i don't find him very interesting...

maybe i should pick up GLC1 the parts that showed him architect...ing... seems interesting. i just, i have very little interest in green lantern after what the Guardians did before the jump...

In tony bedards run on GLC john was really uninteresting(apart from that one John Centric story I posted) which sucks because he is my favorite GL. Tomasi's GLC has been very interesting, but I would not suggest getting into it if you are not a GL fan. Also John has still had some interesting recent stories published. He was the main character in the 80s green lantern retroactive and it had no mention of him being a marine, he was mentioned as just an architect(I am glad they did not shoehorn any retcons into a story that was supposed to be 80s). He still had the badass personality he has today, but they brought back his earlier more rebellious and highly passionate self(That I feel tomasi might be trying to recapture).

I might just break down and post it some time next week.

Yeah Catwoman doesn't seem to be going anywhere in terms of plot other than the gang war...which doesn't make it seem like the book is even about Catwoman at all. At least with Brubaker's run he worked on developing the character by shifting her from professional thief to a heroine of her own right with affinity for stealing expensive stuff. :/

Btw, how did you do on your paper for your class?

The second issue felt rather 'meh' to me. Aside from the 'surprise' ending there was really nothing going on to really get me excited for the next issue. From what's been established so far, Winick's Catwoman lacks any of the depth that the previous two Catwoman series had.

Well yeah I will agree that Bruce and Selina cuddling after their 'rough sex, make it hurt' episode was sweet, but that was about it. I honestly thought the whole sex scene totally random and felt like a last minute pitch to boost sales at best. Bruce/Selina's sexual relationship has been better depicted in the past, kinkiness included.

I'm conflicted. On the one hand, there is nothing about the idea a secret organization called "The Court of Owls," with badass masked assassins that I don't love. On the other hand, didn't we JUST do a story with a secret mysterious organization tied to the secret history of Gotham and the Waynes? Like, the entire time Morrison was writing?
