	Surely Doom must have a PhD in something scientific? (Though he may well be loaded with honorary doctorates from universities in Latveria and its satellite states.) I did always wonder why it was "Mr. Fantastic" and "Doctor Doom" when surely Richards must be a PhD several times over. 	Doom left (was expelled from) Empire State University without having achieved his degree IIRC. You're right about Empire State University, I think.

You're also right about universities being a hotbed of rebellion... but if the Latverian youth had no colleges in the country, those that did not stay and till the land would have to seek education abroad, where they'd be exposed to influences that might harm their patriotism. Better to have a fully-funded state university, with mandatory classes like "Great Deeds Of Doom 101" and "Advanced Techniques for the Final Defeat of RICHAAAAARRRRDDDSSSS."

...I still bet Doom would be offered the occasional honorary doctorate from universities outside Latveria hoping for funding, though.
