Let's count the ways...
Having Dove sleep with a different body nearly everynight... and calling it old fashion... that MIGHT work in a manga, but Dove does have some real standards...
He's dead, so it kinda counts as neco...
Using a body of a married man, adultery right there...

Yeah, I say he is on par of those skin-wearing mutants from Beneath Planet of the Apes, the ones who have their enemies kill each other and call themselves pacifists...

honestly i DON"T think that's what he was trying to do. I honestly think like Nezchan said, he was VERY clumsy... I think Dawn had the wrong impression (Though i would like to stress it was NOT unfounded) from him in that moment.

i figured that was the cut. i didn't figure she interpreted it wrong and left (again she has cause to assume he would mean... THAT... but still)

the fact we didn;t SEE what transpired leaves it VERY open to interpretation... and the only reason i am siding with boston is that Dude just seems to SUCK at dealing with living people :D

I don't actually want to know what it's like to be dead, but, while I get Dawn's frustration, I don't really get Boston's. It's not as if he should have any physical desires. He had a hamburger when he was alive in Brightest Day, but we don't see him haunting McDonald's.

well in THIS case i think its psychological. he WAS alive and in a physical relationship just... what a few months ago... he probably still remembers what it was like. so he's having a hard time Re-letting go.

i hope this isn't the end for Dawn and Boston, i really hope they work it out... for some reason, i really love this relationship.

But i do think they need couple's counseling.

i also have to say, this issue is actually being dealt with in a mature way (not making it a joke).

If they're going to break them up so easily and quickly (and so clumsily) then what was the point of maintaining the relationship coming out of Blackest Night/Brightest Day, especially when other parts of those books have been retconned? I hope this is a red herring.

Really finding it hard to sympathize with Boston here, and i'm a CISmale. I know, I know that it must be tremendously frustrating for him. For both of them. It's terrible for their relationship.

But...

No Means No, Boston.
No. Means. No

Okay, clarification, because it's late and I'm tired and I don't want to sound like an ass:

No means no, but it might be "no, with an asterisk." As in, "No, but if I knew I didn't have to do anything in the morning, then maybe." Or "no, because this situation weirds me out, but if you explained it in a way that makes sense, then I'll think about it."

There's a line, I just don't think he crossed it. He crossed some other, unrelated lines (the "don't use some guy's body to bone your girlfriend, because even if he okay'd it it's still hella creepy" line comes to mind,) but I don't think he's pushing her too hard. If she had a history of being a total pushover, or just not being able to stand up for herself, I think it would be an issue--but she's strong enough, and he's aware that she's strong enough, to not cave in to the slightest pressure.

actually why should it be frustrating? I mean yeah, he's a guy.. but he's a dead guy.

No hormones. So yeah, appreciating the female body, even fantasizing, there's all kinds of stuff he could do, because he had a living mind and knows how it works and all, but the he has no libido no actual sex drive to crank up.

Pretty much. I mean I would understand if he was missing the intimacy of sex, but listening to him talk made it sound like a physical need.

Also if Dawn had said yes would they have basically been raping that poor dude? I mean Boston pretty much destroyed that guys relationship in a clumsy attempt to get laid. He couldn't have just hired a male escort?

BRB dying. Hahaha, oh man this is some good crack.

Though I do feel bad for the two. I mean hell Dawn can't even see Boston (though the art makes it seem like she can almost) she can only hear his ghost self and only "see" him when he's possessing someone. I mean hell, they managed to make it more tragic than Wildfire and Dawnstars relationship, since at least those two can see each other. .

It's an internet story, I guess, a la Slenderman. I think I heard it was sold to a studio to become a movie like five years ago. The thing being In Her Head reminded me of it.

http://www.dionaea-house.com/

Here it is. There's sortof... There's other stuff in it, like it eventually has a link to a blog somewhere. I think the rhyme was on one of those. Been a while since I read it, but it's the only place I've seen that nursery rhyme before, so it's automatically creepy to me.

You what I hate about fictional characters? How writers make into idiots so they can move the plot along. Here's an idea - heck three - about what he could have done, or what Dawn could have suggested:

1. Find a friend who's willing to sub in, a superhero who is willing to loan their body to Deadman with all 3 parties giving their informed consent.
2. Ask a male prostitute if they can pay him to lend his body to Deadman. Seriously, prostitutes already sell their bodys, I'm sure that you could find one who was thrilled to be part of superhero intercourse (even they remember next to nothing after).
3. Make a golem (Zatana can do it with just "melog htiw egral sinep!"

In regards to #1,2, if the inhabited person was unsure about lending their body when they wouldn't remember what happened after, offer to record the sex (though that is it's own can of worms, believe me).

This is why I hate some many comics and shows, because rather than trying hard to make a good story, they just make characters act like idiots rather than come up with something that actually makes sense. There are enough obstacles in a relationship without having Mephisto take your marriage, or making a superhero act like an idiot. The latter appears to DC and Marvel 101 for romance.

Number 1 and 2 don't really solve the problem that, for Dawn, it'd still feel like sleeping with another man.

Yes! That's brilliant!

Another idea that just occured to me: cloning Boston Brand's body to make a body he can inhabit (but inhibiting brain growth) - there's so many ways to solve the age issue, whether Talia's solution for Damien or just having Booster Gold stash it in a hospital on life support twenty years in the past. Deadman could just stay in that body for things other than sex like CHEESEBURGER! (and beer...)

I realize that some of you might be opposed to the inhibiting brain growth idea, but all it requires is to adjust the cloning process so that the body never becomes sentient, hopefully Dawn would be okay with this (and given his characterization Deadman definately wouldn't be squicked by this).

Are you seriously suggesting shapeshifting prostitutes / magical golems / brain dead clones as sensible solutions to a relationship problem? Because that's terrible.

If magical golems or brain dead clones are actually a viable solution, then poof, there goes the entire Deadman concept. Now he is Aliveman who can occasionally leave his body to possess people. The problem here isn't characters acting like idiots, the problem here is an overly expansive fictional universe + readers who can't look at a story a smaller part of that universe without thinking, "well, why doesn't Zatanna just swoop in to magic everything okay?"

I've got a question for all the readers out there:
Q: Would you have sex when you were in a body that had been gender swapped?

I'm not talking about in someone else's body, I'm asking only about if you are a guy and you're turned into a female (and vice versa) would you have sex with your partner(s) or would you prefer your own gender?

Assexuals: N/A

Me: I'd try masturbating with my gender swapped body (especially if I was female since I'd have a hymen) and getting the hang for it. After that YES.
P.S Transsexuals: I'm very curious as to what any of you have to say on this one.

and by "prefer your own gender" I meant that a gal would be female, and a guy male rather that suggesting that the gender swap would have an impact on sexual orientation.

Not explicitly, but:

1. The guy is a serial cheater who's actually at that bar to pick up women even though he's married. Boston just used him because he happened to be where he and Dawn agreed to meet up.

2. June asked Boston to possess her so he can find traces of a witch inside her. I doubt Boston said, "Okay, but after I'm done checking this life-threatening affliction of yours, you mind if I use your body to have sex with my girlfriend?"

We don't actually know the guy's intentions, though, but rather infer them through third parties. Either way, sex with Dawn might not be to his liking, and Boston would be taking away his choice.

And here I thought their unique situation would simplify things.

Step 1: Boston possesses Dawn, but leaves her aware and semi in-control.

Step 2: Bring out Hitachi Magic Wand.
