There's a line, I just don't think he crossed it. He crossed some other, unrelated lines (the "don't use some guy's body to bone your girlfriend, because even if he okay'd it it's still hella creepy" line comes to mind,) but I don't think he's pushing her too hard. If she had a history of being a total pushover, or just not being able to stand up for herself, I think it would be an issue--but she's strong enough, and he's aware that she's strong enough, to not cave in to the slightest pressure.

Here it is. There's sortof... There's other stuff in it, like it eventually has a link to a blog somewhere. I think the rhyme was on one of those. Been a while since I read it, but it's the only place I've seen that nursery rhyme before, so it's automatically creepy to me.

2. Ask a male prostitute if they can pay him to lend his body to Deadman. Seriously, prostitutes already sell their bodys, I'm sure that you could find one who was thrilled to be part of superhero intercourse (even they remember next to nothing after).
3. Make a golem (Zatana can do it with just "melog htiw egral sinep!"
In regards to #1,2, if the inhabited person was unsure about lending their body when they wouldn't remember what happened after, offer to record the sex (though that is it's own can of worms, believe me).
This is why I hate some many comics and shows, because rather than trying hard to make a good story, they just make characters act like idiots rather than come up with something that actually makes sense. There are enough obstacles in a relationship without having Mephisto take your marriage, or making a superhero act like an idiot. The latter appears to DC and Marvel 101 for romance.

Date: 2011-10-27 06:25 am (UTC)Another idea that just occured to me: cloning Boston Brand's body to make a body he can inhabit (but inhibiting brain growth) - there's so many ways to solve the age issue, whether Talia's solution for Damien or just having Booster Gold stash it in a hospital on life support twenty years in the past. Deadman could just stay in that body for things other than sex like CHEESEBURGER! (and beer...)
I realize that some of you might be opposed to the inhibiting brain growth idea, but all it requires is to adjust the cloning process so that the body never becomes sentient, hopefully Dawn would be okay with this (and given his characterization Deadman definately wouldn't be squicked by this).

Now he is Aliveman who can occasionally leave his body to possess people. The problem here isn't characters acting like idiots, the problem here is an overly expansive fictional universe + readers who can't look at a story a smaller part of that universe without thinking, "well, why doesn't Zatanna just swoop in to magic everything okay?"
