Apparently it's already come out in some places! 0.0 :D

I've got two trailers and a really cute (and awesome!) fan-made title sequence for you today. :D

Here's one of the trailers.

And here's another.

These look really good to me! I'm so SO psyched for this :D

And the promised fan-made title sequence, created by animator James Curran.

Can you spot how all the albums are referenced? :D

For legality, the covers of the three albums (at least; anyone know if there are others?) that the movie borrows plot from.

Have any of you s_ders seen it yet? If so, what did you think of it (spoiler-free, please)?

I have indeed seen it and loved it (so did the rest of the audience). The CGI faces you get used to very quickly, and the whole thing has an energy and sense of FUN that was so sadly lacking in, for example, the last Indiana Jones movie. An action adventure romp that is stuffed with easter eggs for the fan (Seriously, you could rewatch the scenes in Tintin's study for hours and probably not catch all the references.

The opening titles of the movie are particularly fun.

I watched the whole movie expecting to hear the Indiana Jones theme, that's how much fun it was! Never a dull moment in it, full of awesome sequences involving chases, crane fights and swordfights, plus Snowy's destroying Tintin's room while chasing a cat. With the animation, they did lovely stunts humans couldn't.

Me and my mom had a great time watching it! And I'm not even a Tintin fan, it was really her idea, I was gonna ignore it. I'm fan of other European comics, but after the movie I may give it a chance after all.

I felt like a kid again when I saw the trailer for the first time; TinTin was one of my favourite cartoon growing up.

Sadly I have to wait until New Year's Eve to see it here in the States. :/

I've seen it, and I can only tell you this: we would not have gotten a better Tintin movie from anyone else. The critics at the Guardian are chewing it out, but as far as I can tell everyone else LOVED it, and as a lifelong fan of Tintin for 18 of my 21 years, I can say it was everything that I could have asked for.

I cannot WAIT for the next one, adapted by uber-fan Anthony Horowitz, directed by Pete Jackson and based on The Seven Crystal Balls.

I'm a bit busy with school, so it's no theatres for me until mid-December. Fortunately, that's exactly when it's coming out here. That works out rather nicely.

I'm still not sure i like the art direction. It might be a fun movie, it might be epic and capture the tone, story and adventure of the original Tintin..
But...these CGi faces... (and I'm finding myself lately disliking more and more CGi...)

Anyway, I prefer Spirou over Tintin :P

I never really read TinTin as a kid, but I thought the movie was a fun classic adventure romp of the kind you don't really get anymore. The animation is also stunning. I must admit, even though I enjoyed it, it didn't grip me like a lot of movies do, for reasons I can't really explain. I'll probably watch it again to see if I like it better.

Haven't seen it, and aren't going to. I'd be fanraging all over the place, it would not be pretty. Because of spoilers.

I'm a lifelong Tintin nerd, and I loved it. Got a fun sense of whimsy, great action sequences, a good marriage of two albums, and the additions and changes they made for the movie worked fine with me. Not perfect (what movie ever is?) but a great, big pile o FUN.
