Ah, yes, Morrison's "staccato" writing style. I've always been a fan of it myself.

What happened to Rags this issue? His art looked great the first two months, and now, the kid whose cat Superman saves looks like a bald sixty year old.

That would be awful. Actually, it does look a lot like a Bagley comic from this page. I think Bendis is sabotaging things by using Bagley's essence in rituals.

Morales just can't do a monthly book. Which is okay, some great artists just need to take their time, but if you pressure them, shit like this happens. also, I'm thinking "Inker problems".

Yes, but I think the idea is that Superman is still young and inexperienced. So he chooses the hard way instead of the easy one.

It is actually kind of...sub-Marvel isn't it? I mean, in Marvel they hate and fear their heroes so much that they create war machines to defeat them. In DC they throw a *brick* at a guy who just shrugged off a truck.

And?

This is the early days of Superman, before he's saved the world a dozen times and gained everyone's trust. It's more realistic that they treat this weird alien like an outsider.

Especially since Superman isn't exactly the nicest guy in this book. :p

So after saving a little girl, he goes sulk in his dark room like an emo? What, is this new Superman a fame whore who craves applause? Is that what he's after? Recognition? That's not Superman at all. He'd just shrug and fly away with a smile, happy he did his job.

There can be a huge space between a "fame whore" and being someone who doesn't like being resented by the public at large. I don't think I'm a "fame whore," but I'd still be pretty bummed out if the man on the street was throwing garbage at me.

Though it might please you to know that as of literally the very next panel, he's on his feet, doing the hard-hitting journalist routine and investigating a corrupt business.

Please, could you avoid using an expression like "fam whore" in a pejorative fashion against a character or person other than yourself? There are other ways to convey the meaning - "attention seeker" for example - without having the derogatory and dismissive connotation against sex workers.
