Jean and Wanda

More of my favorite not really canon couple, the original Marvel Girl Jean Grey and Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch!

First, some scans from the book that launched this particular ship, X-men First Class!




One of my favorite parts of that book were Wanda and Jean's little 'dates.'

So, back to my head canon. Jean Grey and Wanda Maximoff are dating and living together in San Francisco. The two of them live quietly away from the superhero life, trying to keep their heads low and avoiding their old friends.


I figure once a month, they go on a nice date. Get all dressed up, go to a nice restaurant. Gotta watch the budget now that they're not being funded by bazillionares.

Also, Jean ate a sun once. In case the joke wasn't clear. Assuming I didn't ruining it by explaining it right now. Which I totally did.

Ugh, not my best anatomy. Also the licking lips panel is kinda weird. Whatever.




A not subtle at all homage to the Sorcerer's Apprentice. Wanda's been getting better, but she still needs to work out a few things. Shoulda probably had a panel or two of the cleaning items going evil, though.

One nasty fight, Wanda gets crazy, Jean loses control on the Phoenix and it's game over. Hide yo kids (unless your kid is Franklin Richards), hide yo wife.

Okay, so is "The Magicians" a good book, would you recommend it?

Also since Wanda was able to have a robot's babies there's no reason why she couldn't have a woman's. If you though Nathaniel/Nate and Rachael Summers were overpowered imagine Wanda Grey-Maximoff (yes I couldn't come up with a name so sue me - if you're American, that's a joke don't actually sue me).
That kid would
1. Be a strong Phoenix host (above average hosts like Emma Frost, Quentin Quire...
2. Be an Omega level telepath and telekentic user
3. Have magic or an ability to learn magic (we can debate about Chaos magic till the cows come home, but let's not)
She/He *might* have reality warping powers on par with Hyperstorm or Franklin Richards (aside from the Phoenix Force).
Yeah, that's an enfante terrible waiting to happen.

I think that Jean would make a good therapist given her abilities and that Wanda would make a fantastic magician, maybe Marvel's Zatanna without the mindwipes (although the whole House of M thing involved a universe wide mindwipe so...)

P.S: The fetish fuel is strong with this couple;)

I'll disagree that you needed a couple of panels of the cleaning items going evil. The casualness of how they go from cleaning-hum-de-dum to killing-hum-de-dum is pretty funny. They were evil all along, but just had some tidying up to do first....

Not that you were asking me, but I recommend "The Magicians" highly. Just be aware that it'll reorient your view of Harry Potter and Narnia in ways you might not like.
