He seemed to have no plans to recruit Doug Ramsey (though he was aware that he was a mutant) even after Emma Frost tried to (and it was never clear why she didn't recruit him, or why/if he said no to her)

It always rankled that Prof X basically "outed" Doug to Kitty and the X-Men, when he had no apparent plans to recruit him, and the kid himself wasn't aware he was a mutant, it was really none of their business.
