Uh...that wasn't the cover, it was the third page of the first issue, and honestly, I don't remember it being THAT controversial, at least in comparison to the later shitstorm because of the Bat/Cat dryhumping.

I do recall it did create a bit of a stir by itself because it was one of the preview images released before publication. We didn't get to see the humping bit until the actual issue came out.

I think that would work better if his pants were all the way off, or, in keeping with the context of the Catwoman image, one leg on, and the rest hanging off as he leaps. It just looks kind of weird, this way.

Whenever I see something like that I can't help but think:
"Isn't the male secondary sexual characteristic the butt?"

I mean, if its to be an accurate portrayal of the sexualization, wouldn't it be better to find the secondary sexual characteristic instead of jumping to a primary?

Well no, not actual leopard skin no, that only looks good on leopards, but leopard print... I know enough people I respect who have professed to liking leopardskin print that I would not dream of disagreeing with someone else's fashion sense.

(I might find something personally unattractive, but I find it difficult to criticize someone else's fashion tastes since I have no idea what might have formed those tastes. I might think someone looks unattractive with their hair up, but that might be the only control they have over their appearance. Perhaps the last person they loved told them they looked lovely in lime green etc etc)
