It's a little...paradoxical, having to read a character as sensible as that in an outfit as ridiculous as that. For crys sake, Di, put on a leather skirt or something. You look like you'll fall apart the minute you exhale.

I don't really have any problems with the new52 Justice League other than one minor issue, personally: all of the Leaguers appear to be dysfunctional in one way that's supposed to be their character trait, I guess. Oddly, I don't see that as a problem the way it's done in Justice League International, but I do here. I'm not sure why that is.

In JLI, the characters are all mostly presented in one-note presentations so far, just like here. But there, it seems to work for me and here it doesn't work as well. Maybe it's that in JLI, everyone is presented as being competent at their skills and just don't have a lot of time for anything other than very simple characterizations, where here they are all kind of dysfuncitonal at being superheroes AND they present themselves with that trait very loudly.

In JLI: the August-General-in-Iron argues with Rocket Red and chastises Godiva...but then proceeds to work with them to fight the bad guys and makes a stand against overwhelming odds bravely, his skills never in doubt.

In JL: Green Lantern apparently needs to be lectured by the Goddamned Batman about the use of his ring EVERY ISSUE. I mean, I'd like Hal taken off his pedestal, but this is kind of throwing his character under a bus.

I do see stuff here I like. Wonder Woman's 'oh, she doesn't understand the modern world' schtick feels pretty hackneyed, but still kinda fun. The running gag about Batman not having any powers honestly tickled me here, where it didn't as much the first time. And while I suspect Aquaman's arrogance will be his sole note, I like that entrance.

Oh and if I'm not mistaken Orr is a pre-existing character. Made this super being that could harm Superman. I remember Supergirl fought the being too during Countdown when helped by Karate Kid.
