It's that time of year again, where I pick up from where I left off in Gunnerkrigg.

Yes, Gunnerkrigg, the wonderful world of well-managed mythology and technology, the school grown from the Seed of Bismuth.

If you haven't read it yet, then UNDER WHAT ROCK HAVE YOU BEEN SLEEPING?

*ehem*

I mean, go read it :)

And in this chapter, well.... Parley and Smitty are in this one.

With very normal teenage-y moments (and teleporting):

Don'cha just hate when this happens?

Adorbs :D

Anyways, we go on to.... less teenage-y, more battle-y mythology-y pursuits.

Also, this:

I like how Parley's friends are *utterly for* her relationship with Smitty, she's just too embarrassed to admit it in front of them ^^

I think it's more like they sort of tease younger levels, and Smitty being a year younger, Parley's afraid of how they'd treat them.

Personally, I think they seem nice :) And I keep imagining a specific accent to their British.... I'm not sure how to describe it... like the accent somehow used to portray British rock band girls in animated shows.

I can identify with the younger levels thing. In my course, the second and third years always think the first years are so cute. The kids in the optional prep course before that even more so.

It's either you love em or you hate em, but there's always the big distinction between you and them either way.

True, sometimes firsties can be a pain. This year, we've been getting them using the second and third year labs more than usual during non-class times, and they've been causing problems. Leaving messes, getting in the way, that sort of thing. So tolerance is a bit lower than usual (besides, they've got four line test machines and second year only has two, what do they need ours for?).

Good thing Robot's CPU is in his head. Not gonna be doing a lot of parkour for a while, though.

At least he hasn't been all creepy in this storyline, his angel stalker routine is getting a bit unsettling.

I still worry about the repercussions of being cut in half, but heck, Robot seems all chill about it.

I still think Kat needs to turn down the voltage on his religion processor.

The question on everyone's mind is, what part does Boxbot play in all of this?

It's a loooong webcomic and one of those really amazing ones. I hear even Neil Gaiman gave it two thumbs up :) Read from the beginning; it's rewarding.

:) Indeed.
But I just go with the fact that they're so in sync with each other and he knows her too well. That makes it more romantic :3

I wondered how exactly Smitty was doing that 'bam' effect. Then I remembered that he has a small control over probability.

Then I also theorised that it could be that they're just that much in-sync with each other. : )

Then I remembered that this is a webcomic in which a girl fights a robot with a broadsword and telepathy so that she can learn to fight a ghost made out of white-hot rage so that two other girls can rescue an impaled elf-skeleton from a river surrounding a castle in which kids are taught how to deal with super technology and magic.

So I got over it.

I'm not sure if he's using his power to help direct Parley to that moment, or to help predict when Parley'll show up.

According to what Parley said, he just does it for fun and it doesn't really affect the outcome of her teleporting.

Also, why'd you leave out the comic page involving Reynardine's slightly-subtle dig at this new aspect to Kat's character?

Hm... you know what, I don't really know why I did.

My mind was running on automatic and I think I was just going for the sword scenes.

Maybe it could be added in a separate post concerning the chapter before this one :)

Gunnerkrigg, yay! I'm trying to remember if I started reading it due to s_d or not, but good job for picking up more readers for such an awesome webcomic!
