I don't know about you folks, but this reminded me of this moment from Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #87:



The thing is, Black Cat saw Spider-Man as the real person, not Peter. Her idea of Spider-Man was that he was this dashing, charming adventurer, not some average, ordinary guy who lived in a modest, one bedroom apartment. And it was this inability to see them as the same person even though she knew they were one and the same is what ultimately contributed to her and Spidey's break-up.

Well, it looks like a virtually similar situation is going on between Peter and Carlie now. Remember this moment from the Spider-Island Epilogue (Amazing Spider-Man #673)?



The difference, however, is that the Black Cat was in love with Spider-Man--the person she considers who Peter really is--while Carlie was in love with Peter--the person she now considers was just "a suit" her platonic best friend wore. Who knew that Carlie actual dressing up as the Black Cat for Halloween in Amazing Spider-Man #647 could now be seen a after-the-fact foreshadowing?

Yeah. I kept on thinking about her in that story with her dad and how awesome she was there. I think she could fit into this role pretty well.

She-Hulk? I want a follow up to the date he went on with Carol Danvers. The hot dogs were a nice touch. The thing that drew me in is that after M-Day, Carol decided to accept that she was capable of more and that she could 100% become every bit the legend Captain Marvel (so sue me, I prefer his name like that) was. Pete's always struggling to make his civilian life work but he's finally got it together financially and careerwise - Horizon Labs. Spiderman's now an Avenger and a member of the FF, so he's clearly no longer trying to avoid cosmic threats. He's always seemed to prefer street level fights (Mysterio, Scorpion, Vulture) but I don't know why. His archenemy was the mastermind of Dark Reign and played a major role in Seige (Loki and Sentry were the real villains, Loki for planning it and Sentry for losing over to the Void). Plus when Spider-Man was Captain Universe he clearly bonded to the role quite a bit. He would have easily been able to "keep up" to Ms. Marvel with those powers. Though given his fight with Firelord (I wish I had that issue) he probably could make Carol sweat. :D :D P.S: The last paragraph is meant to interpreted sexually. It's not meant to be subtext.

Flurgaldy schner! It's totally She-Hulk! Jennifer Walters the bookish brain dates Peter Parker the nerdy, but sweet scientist in one life. Then, as tights go on, suddenly the gamma gal is quippin' with the wall-crawler and having a good time bashin' baddies and honkin' off Jameson!


(Seriously, I was funnin' before, but the more I think about it, the more I totally think Jen and Peter could work as a couple.)

i agree. it's not Carlie per-se i have a problem with. correctly written she is an interesting character (think of the talks she and MJ could have! just you know knowing there is someone else out there you can talk to)

but as his girl friend... she just felt so shoe horned.

I don't think it's so much as that she can't accept both sides at the moment, so much as it's just still /weird/.

I'd find it weird to see someone I just found out was a superhero half in half out of costume too.

It's the spell that protected Spidey's identity at work. See, instead of actually removing the pictures of Spidey's unmasking, they just made everyone believe 'Spider-man with Peter Parker's face = obvious Photoshop', and even if he's standing right in front of you in the costume but not the mask, you get the spillover!
