Huntress #3

So do you remember Helena's team-up with Catwoman in the post-Crisis continuity, where Selina basically left the security dogs to chase after Helena so she could focus on bypassing a complex security system? Well, I think Helena finally found a solution to that problem in Huntress #3!

And damn, there were so many good scenes in this issue, 4 pages doesn't even begin to do it justice. On the bright side though, I think Levitz finally dropped our first "official hint" on Helena in this issue. I promise it's a very *subtle* one. I think. Maybe.

Anyway, moving on...

Helena still doesn't like giving out her name. Then again, I wouldn't either in my working clothes...especially not to a guy who calls himself "The Lion of Kufra."



Eep! Can't wait for #4. Especially #4. ;)

Now to wait on Birds of Prey later this month. :}

So does Helena Bertinelli no longer exist in the DCnU? Because if so, that really sucks.

The solicitation for this issue still says Helena Bertinelli. Admittedly, DC hasn't admitted to this still being the post-Crisis Helena Bertinelli. So it could still go either way.

Well, if she turns out to be Helena Wayne, all I know is that I'm going to miss the Huntress I've enjoyed reading for the past however many years.

She was great in No Man's Land, in Birds of Prey, and in her sporadic appearances in Nightwing and other Bat books.... Though, not so much in Outsiders, where she existed solely to let the reader know that Roy Harper nailed her.

I don't have anything against Helena Wayne, but she ain't my Huntress.

Understandable under every circumstance. Helena Wayne will always be my Huntress, but I love Bertinelli as well. ♥

If Helena Wayne does return (which seems very likely given the return of Earth-2 JSA and all that), at least DC can finally make up for the clusterfuck that was COIE. She had a lot of potential as a character (still does) and didn't get much of a chance as a result of that storyline. If nothing else, news of Earth-2 JSA and DC hinting at Helena Wayne returning was pretty much the only thing that sold me on giving this reboot a chance.

Yeah, they're both really cool characters. (Considering the length of time & number of revamps H. Bertinelli's gone through, I almost want to say "all three of them.")

Wouldn't it be four though considering Helena B's origin was revamped three times? :P

Well, three of them were cool? I dunno, Helena's been revamped a lot, but I was thinking of the Ivory Madison version as being particularly different.

I'm at least 99% certain this is Bertinelli, and Levitz is just giving a little wink and a smile to his original creation.

I'd believe this more if DC hadn't already hinted at the possibility at this really being the Earth-2 Huntress.
