One coloured but unlettered page from Leviathan Strikes!

Hm, interesting, that skull faced girl at the back seems to be wearing a variation of Kathy Kane's Batwoman costume.

The Good: STEPH! Yay! Steph! I've missed you, Steph!

The Not-So-Good: It... bothers me that the first image we get of Steph in the DCnU shows her bound and with a noose around her neck. I know it's nowhere near the level of Golden Age Wonder Woman bondage imagery, but as others have observed... we could do with a little less of the Women in Peril trope.

I'm sure the panel will come across better when viewed in context, but... yeah. This image doesn't give me great feelings.

Also, what the hell private school requires students to wear miniskirts as part of their uniform?

*raises hand* Actually, skirts of that length are pretty much standard for secondary schools that have a required school uniform.

Though I didn't go to a private school, I went to a government one.

Seriously? Where did you go to school? Both schools I went to, and every one I've taught at, required skirts to touch the floor when kneeling, ie to be mid kneecap.

I went to school in Reading, though towards the end of my time there they seemed to be phasing them out partially to replace them with trousers. The Catholic school that I worked at for a year as a teaching assistant did have slightly longer ones, though the students kept rolling them upwards to make them shorter.

Yes, I hear you on the rolling, *g*. But we always pulled them down for inspections.

If it's like the school I went to, they were issued knee-length :) We used to roll them up at the waist, and one or two more daring girls would have the hems professionally taken up. Of course, you got these skirts when you were eleven, and unless you gained/lost a lot of weight you'd still be wearing the same skirt when you were sixteen, by which point even and unrolled skirt looked fairly obscene.

Ha ha ha ha. My mother refused to take mine up, so I had a ridiculously long skirt in my early years, and didn't really want to roll it, given I was less slim than my peers but had an hourglass figure and wanted to keep the waist.

Then I had a growth spurt and by senior year my skirt was well above the knee naturally. ;-p

Same with my school, but even so I get the feeling nobody would get away with wearing 'em that short.

Although there's a school around the corner from me that's only recently started admitting girls, and their skirts are bordering on ankle-length. They look so horrible, I feel a bit sorry for them.

The stockings are a bit weird, though. They're too obviously sexualised for any school.

British schools are kind of oblivious to this kind of thing, Though since this is a school for assassins, I don't really think that they'd conform to proper academic standards.
