British schools are kind of oblivious to this kind of thing, Though since this is a school for assassins, I don't really think that they'd conform to proper academic standards.

The problem with Peril scenarios, isn't that the woman is in danger, it's the fact that it's being sexualized. It's fetishizing violence against women, and that's creepy.

Same with my school, but even so I get the feeling nobody would get away with wearing 'em that short.

Although there's a school around the corner from me that's only recently started admitting girls, and their skirts are bordering on ankle-length. They look so horrible, I feel a bit sorry for them.

It's skirting the line (if you forgive the pun), it's not like they're being blatant, with Steph and the other girl being in their underwear, and the other girls wearing latex dominatrix outfits, but I can certainly understand why other people find this scene problematic or uncomfortable.

And as someone pointed out, showing a black girl with a noose around her neck is just...ew.

I think that she's meant to be south Asian, though I could be wrong.

I think it would racist to exclude specific races from a situation like that. I kind sort of see where you're coming from, but I guess I just don't see skin colors like others do. Everyone just looks the same to me. (multiracial family)

As my boyfriend and I were watching Utena, I kept waiting for scenes that would click for me about which in particular your icon came from. But looking back, Anthy has some wondeful (and terrifying) moments a plenty where her she's just in the background looking perfectly threatening, calm, imposing and utterly frightening (somehow).

Honestly though, I glanced at that, looked at their uniforms and just went straight to the comments without thinking on it. But now I can't stop thinking about it. ^u^;

LOL isn't she wonderful? I think the icon is from The Barefoot Girl. Anthy does a now she's her, now she's not her anymore in the background while Akio kisses Utena.
