In Deadshot's case, at least, he really doesn't care. He's walked on the very razor's edge of his death wish for the longest while.

Catman. Well, he's just that good.

Also, when your work perpetually puts you against teams, and occasional armies, of superbeings you probably get a bit jaded.

That's the whole point, though. These schmucks are so low on the totem pole that they don't even register to these guys. They've gone through far too much crazy shit to be even pulsed by an amateur punk with a gun.

That's weird; this is my favourite Deadshot/Catman scene too. In fact, this is the very scene I was describing to my guy earlier, when I was trying to explain just how good this book was, and why Suicide Squad is no kind of replacement.

Although the only Secret 6 I've read usually involved the Birds of Prey.

I love this whole scene so much. First thing I read of Secret Six and I fell in love with the book right away XD It is very Tarantinoesque.

This is such a great issue all-round. It's the first issue of Secret Six I read and it was a perfect introduction. It had this scene, and drunk depressed Scandal, and the birthday cake with Liana, and of course the utter nightmare fuel that is Junior *shudder*

I love the way Deadshot keeps on teasing Blake about his not-very-good-guy tactics right after this bit. "You know what I thought was particularly noble and heroic and all Teen Titan-y? that bit where you were choking that skinhead with a whole huge thing of beef jerky." Heheh.

I loved that scene. I loved Scandal's 'vision' of Knockout, all warlike and defiant, and how forgiving Scandal was of her awful teammates, that little smile when she says, "Idiots."
