I always thought cyberpunk meant more along the lines of say, The Matrix, so been wondering what Fallout would count as (aside from nuclear dystopian/apocalypse).

Date: 2011-12-14 07:00 pm (UTC)There are a lot of different terms for retrofuturistic fiction, which it's fun to backtrack and classify things as.
For example, Stonepunk is a modern feel but with variations on Stone Age technology. This covers both the Flintstones, and the British TV show Cavegirl (personally I think that the Flintstones is just based at the same time as the Jetsons, except they couldn't afford to live in the sky cities like the protagonists of the other show).
Sandelpunk includes modern variations on Roman or Ancient Greek stuff, for another example, and would include things like the Asterix comics as well as Disney's Hercules.
