Well peeps, as some of you may know, the second trailer along with the prologue will debut tonight at midnight with Sherlock Holmes and Mission Impossible. However, as usual, someone was kind enough to leak it online.

The sound and visual quality isn't great, but at least this gives us an idea of what we're in for. :}

Hmmm...is it just me or has Bruce and Selina dancing at a masquerade ball become a cliche now in Bat cinema?

I'm actually really enjoying how theatrical they're making Bane. Nolan compared him to an old-school monster, but with a brain, and it's really coming across. Like I've said elsewhere, my favourite bit of dialogue from him so far is his turning the tables on the CIA with 'crashing this plane!'; Again, never mock and insult a criminal mastermind.

That does fit in with his costume - the mask especially. The snarling teeth at first suggested to me a gorilla, but the dark browns of his costume/fur coat and his Eastern-European accent suggest more of a bear, to go up against the bat. Bears are creatures known for flying into a murderous rage when attacked, but also for being slow and calm and methodical.

Whether we disagree or not on the Joker, what's apparent is that he wanted to cause as much destruction as possible without caring exactly who got hurt - criminal, innocent, police - just as long as somebody did. Bane, in contrast, has been described by Nolan and Hardy as results-based - he's going to kill or hurt someone because he wants that specific someone dead or hurt. It looks like he's going to embody a wider, more tyrannical form of Terror as an apposite to Batman's faith in the power Fear.

Also, note this (and I only just got it): the reason they bring in the body bagged corpse to get a blood transfusion is that Bane really is thinking of everything. The CIA are going to pick up the plane, find a disfigured corpse, and perform a blood test; they'll more than likely find Dr. Pavel's blood and presume he's dead, so that they won't try to track him down.

Sneaky bastard.

I would've also thought, given the mention of a fire on the plane, that if the body they leave behind is too badly burnt after the crash Bane seems to be engineering, blood and tissue tests would be more difficult anyway. So even if the CIA just find a body, they might be reckless enough to assume Pavel perished in the crash. Bane's covering all his bases.
