I liked the clarification that there are different tribes/groupings of aboriginal Australians and that they don't all share a common heritage or belief system. (Reminded me a little of an "Alien Nation" episode, where the human lead makes an assumption that all the Newcomers share the same faith, and one of them replies "Why should we? Humans don't." (Star Trek being the most guilty franchise of this assumption methinks)

The reveal at the end was a genuine surprise, since I didn't think it was possible for the Shade to... well... if you know the ending, you'll know what I mean, but I won't spoil it.

Given the time scale we'd have to be talking about...I'm thinking that happened way before he got to that point.

You might have to for me, because the first thing that came to my mind was something along the lines of "get an erection that big"....

Please don't look at me like that....

I LOVE the art here, and Diablo is well characterised.

I have to admit, I'm digging The Shade series so far. It's not as good as Starman, to be sure, but it's still fun.

I'm liking Shade acknowledging complexity and deferring to other experts. Makes the world seem bigger.
The temptation with immortals is to simplify, until it's the same little club of unaging Machiavellis behind everything in history, but here it's clear the Shade doesn't know what's up, so he's got to go to school.

Also, Shade, I'm not sure there's a lot of mystical significance there, I'm pretty sure turning into a swan and kissing them would end ANY fight.

I have to say. I always love it when they use aboriginal/Australian mythology in stories... it's a branch of mythology i have always found fascinating but have NEVER had the time to study. greek, roman, celtic, british, norse, even a bit of sumerian, but never this... its part of the reason i loved HEROES because they delved a bit into that in the beginning (When they lost that, i think thats when it started going down).

anyone know where i can research Dreamtime, the rainbow serpent ect....?

also is this Dreaming the same Dreaming as the sandman stories?
