You know... this is fast becoming one of my favorite books. the issues number one had aside (and actually one of the moments in issue 1 does actually seem to have reprocussions in this issue, still don't like that scene however). I have actually really been enjoying this book. this issue seems to focus on Starfire.

Rocafort's art is getting better too. at least where starfire is concerned she looks fierce!... still don't know how the hell that stays on though...

Apropos of nothing, her outfit is really distracting to me...and not in the way intended. The whole design of it is just so....weird. There are shoulder coverings and the apparently federally-mandated 'new 52 collar' is in attendance, but then stripper clothes until the weird baggy legging things. They're just so ODD to me. It's like she fell in love with the movie Flashdance, but also wanted armor or something.

I suppose it's neither here nor there, anywho. This title has settled in to a respectable sales number for a title, at least pre-DCnu. The third issue sold around 45,000 copies, which was a decent number, I guess. Not for me, but I'm glad to see it appears to be improving.

What's weird to me is that her top and thong don't seem to have any substance - it's like they're painted on to her. That's a stark contrast to the out-of-place collar thing and the inexplicably chunky boots.

that's pretty much standard for superhero costumes. Anything that isn't an extending from the body say boots or shoulderpads or gauntlets are drawn basically adhered to the body, At least that's the way the art looks to me.

I would say it has. I'll admit that the whole beach scene with Star in the first issue could have been done better, but since then it's been a fun, exciting, funny, and a little surreal action/adventure story with AMAZING art. It's not award-winning or critically acclaimed, but it's a good read, IMO.
