hmmmmm perhaps this is the writer in me (his name is Guapo:) but i don't know... i don't think he will actually kill off Paco... or anyone else.. he is trying to play up the "Killing machine" angle of the beetle. he is also playing up the horror/terror angle of a kid suddenly getting bonded to killing machine... i loved the original blue beetle... but i also think (and i think this is what htey think) is that Jaime had it too easy controlling the beetle...

Yet Jaime has shown a great deal of resistance to the beetle's influence... i have a feeling the beetle will be the key to saving Paco....

It's pretty good as what it is, but I can't help but think the proposal for this boiled down to " You know everything we could've done with the character the first time around, but instead chose to do something a little more refreshing and new? How 'bout we do all that now, and eat the cake? "

well i like the MOre spanish... i also kinda agree that he had too easy a time controlling hte beetle.... i also think they like trying to freak us out... again i dont know why... but i feel this is a big miss lead....

Oh, I want to be wrong, I really do. But frankly, the narrative signs and the talk of marginalization of his family point towards grimdark re-imagining and the removal of what made people like Jaime to begin with.

maybe you are right.... his family was not involved heavily until later as well... not until the second trade maybe (its under a pile of clothes somewhere) they were there, but i think they focused more on Paco and Brenda like now...

i think as soon as he get control things will be better. i don't feel this is grim dark at all (you know, stabbing his best friend aside) its just in panic mode until he and the beetle reach a compromise or something. maybe it is optimism... but i... sense something more here...

yeah. its either a dream induced by the scarab, or Jaime is going to make the scarab heal him. (the armor seems capable of doing something like that). then we will have Paco know about him! :D

I really, REALLY don't see the point of the tacked on angsty murder death they decided to add into the reboot. Did someone high up in DC just declare that comic book heroes weren't allowed to be fun people anymore?
