Just some fun pics from this issue.  Wasn't terrible.  Molly is treated as the "Dumb one" still (and still has a crush on Wolverine for some reason).  But, worth it if only for two things: 


After the obligatory super "hero" fight, they talk.  They share common enemy, but I'm sharing this page for the simple explination for why Chase is running around after being hit by a car: 

 

And that's it.  I just laughed.  Sure, it's cheesy, but I liked it. Anyway.  Old worker of the Pride has been the big bad for this series (I dunno, I'm only here for the Runaways).  He snaps and decides he's tired of being an idol for the moment and uses his vast powers just to crush the pest Daken (who has his powers gone for the moment) with his power.  

 


 

Now that's a Runways line. 



Oh hey, New Leap Frog too!  That's nice . . . Where? Bah, whatever.  At least we got the Frog back.

Aw, I kinda wanted to see more of the old new Leapfrog that they just got. It had an interesting design, the classic design is better of course but still.

Is it just me or is Karolina flying around naked on that last page?

They got Leapfrog 2.0 back in Runaways v3. Don't remember the specifics, though, as I ruthlessly suppressed everything after "Rock Zombies."

Actually, I liked the Immonen written stuff better then Moore's. Immonen was a least trying to go back to the Vaghunn days, Moore's run was just boring generic superhero stuff.

Also, I see that once again the writers have forgotten that Runaways is not, in fact, the name of the team.

You assume wrong. I mean Moore.

The only problem with Whedon's run was that it tried to do too much in only six issues - it wasn't as good as BKV, but it was still a decent story in it's own right.

Moore, on the other hand, put out two surprisingly uninteresting story lines - one of which should have been good, but thanks to under-developed villains, a lame Dues Ex Machina inspired conflict, and a predictable ending, really wasn't - and turned the kids into shallow archetypes of themselves, not to mention turning new character Klara into a boring Molly clone.

I halfway agree with you there. Immonen's did feel more like something would have happened under BKV, but I felt that Moore had a better handle on the characters.

Moore? Really? Honestly, I've always felt that of all the writers, Moore was the one who got the kids the least.

Well, I don't think he was that much better. I just found his versions to be a bit more recognizably themselves than Immonen's.

Still prefer Yost to either of them.

It's actually quite sad how the Runaways started off so great under BKV and then became... this.
Honestly, comparing these characters to the way BKV wrote them, they are all OOC.

(And mysterious previously unknown member of the Pride? Why would you fuck that?)
