	I think the highlight of these scans for me was the sharks turning the uhh...mutated bat thingies into dinner. Also cosplaying Beetle!Darkseid. (Reply to this)

	It seems that Johns has picked a new hero to build up hugely at the expense of others. Though in all fairness, Aquaman perhaps needs it for new readers. (Reply to this)

	I said it when the solicit came out, and I'll say it again. this is the hottest Aquaman has ever looked, and I LIKE IT. also, the lasso moment actually made me feel a little bad for Hal -it makes him more pathetic than annoying. :T (Reply to this)

Listen, I realize that Green Lantern has been disliked and/or loved for years. I understand that a lot of people aren't exactly Hal's biggest fans and that Hal Jordan has been getting an easy ride in his own very popular title for several years now. I'm not a particular fan and don't buy any GL titles....but is it really necessary to make him such a complete TOOL?

I mean unless this is leading to a 'GL realizes what a jerk he's been and makes the heroic choice' moment, this borders on character assassination.

GUY GARDNER IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE THE MORE APPEALING ONE. I mean, Guy is a jackass, but even he at his worst was presented as being a hero, just a mean-spirited, rude and short-sighted one. GL here is presented as a shallow, vane and pretty-much ineffectual hero. 5 years in the past or nothing, this seems like going too far to bring him back down to earth.

As for Aquaman? I LIKE AQUAMAN. So there.

Is Jim Lee getting lazy to get this stuff out on time or is it just me? The sheer amount of red-sky backgrounds in these pages is ridiculous. I mean, I know he's had eye surgery and all, but this makes Hush look like a masterpiece. This JL's meant to be DC's A-game, but the visuals on everything from Batman to The Flash and Wonder Woman look better, IMO.

And Darkseid's armour.. The idea that Darkseid needs armour is enough to make me giggle. I'd complain about DC going 90's, but then it's plain Jim was stuck in that era anyway when he tried to Wildcats Volume 4 with Morrison, and plainly ignored nearly everything cool Joe Casey and Dustin Nguyen laid down.

To be fair, it IS Hal. He seems to have only three settings,

- Blandly MacBland Pants (the current comics ever since he stopped being the Spectre)
- Asshole (most over depictions, except bizarrely when he was Parallax)
- Conflicted hero (New Frontier and the movie, though in the latter it's mixed with the second for most of the film)

And the third one isn't used that much.

	motto. Now if they can just can the in-Universe Aquaman jokes, I'll be happy. It doesn't even make sense. If people don't know who he is, why would they make disparaging jokes about him?
