1) I am severly behind on my Avenger knowledge so I have no idea when Hawkeye became that willing (eager even) to take a kill shot.

2) Why did Cap stop him from taking the shot (well, besides the high probability that it wouldn't work)?

He was also okay with the slaughter of Purifiers in Avengers Academy.

Ever since Clint died and came back, Bendis has been writing him a lot more blood thirsty. Killing Hand ninjas, skrulls, attempting to kill Osborn. It's completely out of character but well it's Bendis. And Gage seems to be following Bendis' lead.

I've noticed that too, not to mention they're having him do a lot of black ops stuff and his new outfit resembles Ultimate Hawkeye's a lot.

It's like they're forgetting his former-villain circus background and replacing it with the movie/ultimate SHIELD assasin one.

Even the Avengers cartoon had him as a SHIELD agent.

Scorn is new. She was a psychiatrist for Shriek from the last Carnage miniseries. The Carnage symbiote was used to replace her amputated arm, but then it decided to go back to Cletus and left behind a spawn that she eventually bonded with.

Though I guess given the 5 shown they might have a way to restore Anti-Venom to help fight Carnage. He'd actually be pretty good at it since he can apparently kill Symbiotes with a touch.

ok, I get that he needs bionic legs because he got ripped in half by the Sentry, but why would you give a murderous psychopath bionic legs if your long term goal is to keep said psycho locked up for the rest of his life?

even if he DOES have super powers, that just seems like dropping the idiot ball to me.

I dunno. The exact specifics of what one can do seem to vary wildly. I mean, here, it's just coating the Avengers in symbiote-gunk, but we've seen in the case of Venom that a symbiote can really, really pump someone's muscle mass up, even though Brock was already pretty muscular. So it's a bit of a weird one. Perhaps the symbiote needs flesh to adhere to. *shrugs*.

There's Flash, the current Venom, who doesn't have legs below his knees. The symbiote seems to give him legs just fine.

Well, he got bionic bits when he wasn't connected to the symbiote. Why he keeps them...forward planning for when they take the symbiote off him and he ends up depowered and back in jail again? I mean, from the extent of his injuries, they probably aren't just legs but some sort of life-support as well?

It is kind of brain-dead to go "let's throw the symbiots at each other". The Symbiotes have two canonical weaknesses, fire and sonic, so why not just grab a hulkbuster unit with shock cannons and flamethrowers and be done with it.
I think the Marvel Universe has had superheroes headlining for so long they've kind of forgotten how to solve problems other than 'get somebody who can punch it'.

It looks like Spidey only brought Avengers with him. Johnny's dead at this point and god knows what's going on with Firestar these days.

He did tell the Thing to bring a sonic cannon from the Baxter Building though.

Probably should have brought Ms. Marvel at least. Can't think of many current Avengers with sonic or fire powers.

Don't know Scorn well (one of the above comments seems to explain her).

Hybrid however was originally something like 5 or 6 symbiotes made at one point as a way to perfect Venom I think but they didn't work out until they combined into one aka Hybrid who is a hero like Toxin.
