I want to try and like this series. I really do. It's got a lot of elements that I'd love.

Unfortunately, a lot of the costume designs are atrocious. Midnighter, specifically. I just can't get past all the stupid spikes. Especially the chin spike. I mean...what the hell, man? What the hell was wrong with his trenchcoat look? It was fine!

If I wanted a really quick way to change the costume without actually conceding I was wrong in making it that way in the first place: have someone punch the spikes off of him. Seriously, one good punch to the chin, and at least that atrocious chin spike is gone.

This. If the idea is that they don't want him looking too much like Batman, here's what they can do:

- Black trenchcoat.

- Utility belt.

- Shades, so that he doesn't look too much like Butcher from The Boys.
