That moment literally made me laugh out loud. I now have to imagine that was the reason why Clark laughed when he saw it, 'cause there's no way that Jonathan never told that story to Clark after he found out about the rocket.

And it looks like next issue is going to be positively insane. :D

I'm glad that we revisited the origin of Superman again for this.

Is that the usual brand of comic book fan sarcasm or are you actually entertained? (Hard to tell over the internet.)

Please. It's better than Geoff Johns butchering the Silver Age yet again, and it's not like DC are going to reinvoke Man of Steel or Birthright.

The funniest thing is that this just makes Johns look like a complete idiot and a bit of an asshole for peddling another Superman origin when we were going to get another one in less than a year anyway.

Wait.. You seriously think they were planning the reboot years before it happened and that they didn't just slapped it together at the last minute?
"Oh honey...."

Thanks for the unnecessary condescension just because I don't automatically run with the notion that DC are hacks.

Sorry, I was just kidding. I promise I will always use :-) whenever I attempt being funny. I just think it's very obvious, that they couldn't decide what to do. "OH no, all these stories are still there! Except they are not..." .

And with all respect, you are the one, who said "this just makes Johns look like a complete idiot and a bit of an asshole" when he propably had no idea, that there was going to be another origin, so don't say I'm the one, who makes baseless assumptions.

Johns would've known. He was promoted to a new position - the CCO one or whatever, while he was actually doing Secret Origin. And there's been talk of him and Lee doing Justice League for years. Plus, everyone knows that Didio wanted to do a reboot right after Final Crisis. So Johns would've known. Him and Morrison and a handful of others are basically DC's equivalent of Marvel's architects. There's no way none of them would've not known it was coming.

I didn't even think they really slapped at the last minute, but this is far worse. If they all knew, then they were truly hacks. They had so much time, and yet, the didn't even bother to get things right. Or to make some kind of ending stories for old contiunity, cause "we didn't think it would be necessary (actual quote)".

Is it just me or does Kubert's art remind anyone else of Terry Dodson's?

I thought it was pretty good initially. Then I realized they'd test it. And if they tested it, they might find out what it was. And then he's be in trouble
