I need input. Has anyone else felt like the Quentin in this title is just different to the original Quentin? Are these pages more like the old Quentin?

I think it's accurate at a basic level--punk-ass kid who wants to dismantle Xavier's (now Logan's) vision. I think the difference is that in Morrison's run it was less genuine, more of a mix of teenaged anger and fashion statement. Now he utterly believes that he needs to destroy everything.

Actually "punk-ass kid" has given me a clue to my feelings - newQuentin seems like more of your basic 'punk' archetype (and I mean, I love these) whereas oldQuentin, like you say, was more of a fashion-punk using the aesthetics of youth anarchy to make his intellectual/telepathic (superiority complex/crushing self doubt-based) MAGNETO WAS RIGHT nonsense look cool and valid. He wore that stuff as an actual imposed uniform, not as self-expression precisely, but this quentin seems to fit the "what would this character design sound like" mould.

It's still enjoyable. I guess I'll pretend this is Ultimate Quentin.

And after flipping through that initial run of Morrison's, you see that Quentin, while perhaps not being fully into Xavier's vision as others, didn't get into that fashion-punk and gang antics until he found out he was adopted. When you consider that, you can say that a lot of it was him trying to create a new identity, one that in his mind would be badass and untouchable to hide the pain he's feeling.

When I think of it like that, I really start to see why Logan might want to help Quentin--he can probably relate to him in terms of lost identity, hiding their emotions, and having a checkered past.

This upcoming arc of W&TXM does seem to involve Logan and Quentin at some sort of supercasino trying to game it to get more money for the school, so we might get something like that.

Plus we've seen Logan trying to do group activities with Quentin in his hockey game. :D

I've not seen that! I didn't want to risk ordering anything until I knew whether it would give good Quentin or not, so I've been scans-only so far.

Did it go well, this hockey? I am guessing it did not!

As for the hockey, it kinda did. It was part of Marvel's Holiday Magazine this year and the W&TXM story used to be available for free online, but it doesn't seem to be any more. :(
