I must admit that I didn't really know about the later developments, just that they were back in the books. Though I should have guessed - teambook or becoming a protagonist always means a downgrade power-wise.

And Legion really can't get a break, can he? He's either (a somewhat well meaning) villain, or has a serious MPD with at least one bastard in his skull. Hopefully Charles has at least taken part in his treatment.

Guess the plan has to be amended, forget telepathy and just let the tech-heads make a better version of the device Beast used on Dark Phoenix that suppressed her powers for a while. That way the punk can assume his logical place in a school food chain, somewhere between pokemon cosplayer and moon landing denier I think, and we won't have to get into the ethics of lobotomy or somesuch things.
