Simone: Well, there's an unexpected date, some new neighbors of interest, including one who wants to be Batgirl, new villains, the return of an old one, the answers to the Oracle question, the back-story about her return to mobility, Batman, Bruce Wayne, Arkham, mom, a really unfortunate date, a BOP friend, pirates, a JLA guest star, the worst family reunion ever, muffins, the secret of her martial arts training, the answer to what really happened immediately after she was shot in the Killing Joke. And we're just getting warmed up.

Misfit anyone? my money is on Misfit :D
Also "The Answer to the Oracle Question" and a BoP Friend... and Worst Family Reunion ever. (James Jr?:)

Personal Thought: I know Snyder had James as Dick's archnemisis (his opposite, or Dark Mirror if you will :) but for some reason, i think he would make a better nemisis for Barbara... the good child and the dark child. Snyder showed him to be psychotic, but Brilliant! his whole scheme was imensely demented but shear genious. it would be interesting to have him be a villain for her... its probably not gonna happen but still.. :D

On a more serious note, at first I wasn't all that keen on #7 with the retread of Killing Joke, but after hearing Gail talk about it, showing those events entirely from Barbara's perspective...okay, that could definitely be an interesting story.

One positive aspect of the relaunch is that it's making people reconsider some habits that we had just come to accept from comics over the years — primarily the idea that every story would be in a collection at one point, so there wasn't the same need to present individual issues as enjoyable on their own. I admire the Marvel "What Went Before" pages; we're trying to do something like that, but in story, as painlessly as possible."

I've been noticing this. Snyder does this also on Batman, with Bruce always reminding the reader in his narration what happened in the previous issues. On one hand, I appreciate what they're doing. On the other, it's kinda taking up space to do it this way.

i think they are still working on organically incorporating it into the story.

i kinda like how Williams does it on Batwoman :D

ummm i think Kate is older by a tad. I'd say she was 21 by the time she left to train to be Batwoman.... then traied for... 2-5 years? making her between... 24 and 26. where Barbara i think here is portrayed as.... 23-24?

also kate is a contemporary of Renee who is a police detective....
