I think that's most likely--I'm thinking considering the, well, international take on JLI, he would make a good fit--plus, if sales decline and Batwing has to be cancelled, it at least leaves a place for David to have adventures somewhere. I'm pretty sure I heard they're doing the same thing with OMAC, actually.

I rather like that idea for Firestorm, since he's supposed to be a sort of Mutually Assured Destruction option.

Firehawk (Though surely she'd have a French title) has history on the old DCU, but so has Pohzar, as an old Firestorm villain from the days of heavy Russian involvement in the title, including a Russian man being part of the Firestorm matrix.

Since the other shoe already dropped on both Power Girl and Huntress, this would hardly count as a revelation by this point. Nothing short of just moving forward with plans.

Truthfully I just want it to be May already so that we can get a proper reintroduction to Karen AS A CHARACTER and not as anyone's girlfriend/fuckbuddy/whatever as she's been introduced and defined in Mr. T's book.

Luckily for me I've had Helena Wayne to entertain me these last few months, but man I really miss the Peege. :(

"ANOTHER traumatic moment?"

Considering what we found out in #5, I'm thinking this might have something to do with why Barbara's mom left Jim. It could also be something new with James Jr.

"Also, that's one dapper villain."

He should be--if I remember right, Gail described this guy as "James Bond without any of the good qualities."

"Also, yeah, I'd totally let Superboy be in charge, I mean, who can't trust a man whose facial expression says: 'Do what I say, or I'll peel you like an orange!.'"

To be fair, it doesn't say what the rest of the team's reaction could be. Everyone else could be going "hell no!" Not to mention that, with the strongest member of the team, Wonder Girl, being missing, they might not have a whole lot of choice at the moment.

The problem with JLI isn't just that it's no longer the funny book of the 80s, it's that it's boring.

All of the great relationships that have been built up among most of these characters were thrown out and all that's left is a bunch of boring shells who stand around talking about what they're going to do instead of just doing it.

Seriously, you have GUY GARDNER and BOOSTER GOLD fighting GIANT ROBOTS FROM SPACE and it's dull and overdone. If I didn't care so much about Old School JLI I wouldn't even bother.

I agree the best things about the JLI books were the relationships between the characters, especially the ones that were close and went back years - Booster/Beetle, the Dibnys, Fire/Ice, Guy Batman, etc. and with the reboot those relationships are gone and these characters don't have the same dynamic.

this. I am especially disappointed because I was enjoying Jurgens' Booster Gold stuff, and so to have it replaced by something so inexplicably numb is a dagger to the heart every month.

From: [personal profile] darkknightjrk it wrong that I want the Love Guns to be a semi-permanent part of WW's arsenal? It's just so ridiculously awesome that I hope she keeps it around. Maybe she can keep them in her weapons chest we saw in the first issue and take them out when she needs them?

"Her weapons chest?..Taking them out when she needs them"? Man you don't want to think where my mind went there..(This place has seriously warped me!...Or maybe it was Captain Jack ;) )

Seriously though. If Wonderwoman had a pair of guns like that, you just know that sooner or later some writer would have one of her villain's get their hands on them at some point..and then it'd be like the problem with her old lasso's powers all over again. (i.e carrying around a weapon that somebody could use to control her, or at least stop her being such a threat..)

And I actually kind of like the Tron suits. Though, they won't likely be their actual uniforms, I wouldn't think. I'd bet that they're just for the crossover.

So Terrific's coming to an end, heh? Why did they need to cancel is book? I mean, without waiting for total sales of the digital comics over a year long, and the TPBs releases too...

Firestorm's going into such a crazy direction..I like it, it kinda looks a way bit too much like Green Lantern and the various corps, but I like it.

I still can't like this new look for Booster.. I mean he looks more like Booster BLUE than Booster GOLD now... :/

'nuff said!
