And he wants us to know it.

(warning for mild sexist language)

Back in UXF19 when Logan told the school staff about X-Force:

And now

And for something completely different:

I want the fanfics in which the whole Agency X plays D&D.

Yeah... Deadpool is pretty much spot on there with what his dnd class is.

Dual wielding proficiency, mutants as his favored enemy, alas though, wisdom score is too low to learn magic.

Yeah, I was gonna say... Is he saying he plays and that's what his character is or is he describing himself if he happens to be a D&D character?

I KNOW RITE!!!

omg now I want to see Wade deeply involved in an edition war discussion in which he starts shooting people for liking D&D4 over D&D3.5 or something.

Rules are there to be ignored if you're the Dungeon Master and sufficiently interested in the outcome.

Except that Rangers were restricted to good alignments in AD&D (they didn't lift that one until 3rd. ed. whcih is just plain D&D)

Pretty art.

that's another baby apocalypse that Fantomex cloned and had raised by the Kents in The World and who's now joined the student cast at W&tXM.

The sentence above me is awesome.

Anyone else glad to see Deadpool having a drink with his peers and coworkers and not being treated like a pariah? I mean it looks like he might actually be making real friends !

What stands out to me is the, "I've seen too much to believe in any love of God" quote.

I half-suspected the reason Marvel backgrounded him for years and then killed him off was Kurt's hyper-religiousity, that the idea of a demonic-looking character being the most overt mouthpiece for Christian values (the actual teachings -- love, forgiveness, self-sacrifice and etc., not the fundamentalist tripe) in their canon was a bit too "perverse" for certain "modern" hyper-sensetive um… sensibilities in the commercial sphere.

So now (at the moment that Marvel has swapped out berzerker-rage Wolverine for kinder, gentler, more family-friendly Wolverine) we have angry, hateful, kick-ass, hyper-masculine replacement Nightcrawler, who explicitly states he is not effeminate or spiritual while drinking beer and complaining the danger room isn't dangerous enough. Cool -- why show (characterization), when you can just tell (dialogue)? (snark snark snark!)

I wonder what Cockrum would think. Heck, I wonder what Claremont thinks.

I'm not sure Cockrum ever envisaged Kurt as being who he ended up being in the X-Men. IIRC he's said he wanted a very UNreligious character, who was so sick of being thought a demon that he rejected religion outright.

Could be wrong though.

Cockrum stated that he envisioned Nightcrawler as bitter and unreligious; Claremont came up with the swashbuckling Catholic characterization on his own.

Kurt didn't used to be hyper-religious; religion was one aspect of his character that an astute writer would bring out very occasionally to great effect.

And then Chuck Austen.

Sadly, Bizarro!Claremont started the ball rolling on that one. Austen either decided to or was ordered to retcon the priest thing.

He still did so in an offensive manner that was just bleeding misogyny and ignorance, of course. Definitely not defending the story.

Sigh... AoA Nightcrawler was interesting as a short term example of how Kurt could go "wrong", a dark mirror as it were. I have no real interest in seeing him as a continuing character, especially

I may have to post some being-awesome Nightcrawler just for the hell of it.

It helps that this team makes the Secret Six look functional of course.

This is a wonderfully written scene, but then the problem is that I've read a lot of Deadpool comics in my day, since before "THE CIRCLE CHASE," and I swear on a stack of bibles that this is NOT Wade Wilson.

But in itself, this is a lovely scene.
