In addition to the Newsrama interview where Levitz let the cat out of the bag early (excuse the pun) and shed new light on the premise for the upcoming Worlds' Finest series, Levitz also tells fans to 'keep in mind these are not the same Huntress and Power Girl as we knew them.'

From DC's Source:

Last week, we announced DC COMICS-THE NEW 52 “Second Wave,” featuring six new series coming in May. In WORLDS’ FINEST, writer Paul Levitz jumps between parallel Earths, following the story of Earth 2’s Huntress and Power Girl as they struggle to find their way back home. But fans of these heroes should keep in mind that they aren’t the Huntress and Power Girl we know so well. Levitz offers some insider insights on what readers can – and can’t – expect from WORLDS’ FINEST:

Nothing’s quite the same…the world they’re in, the rules of the game, the stakes…so Helena and Kara are facing dilemmas in WORLDS’ FINEST that are nothing like any version of either of their previous lives…

Learn the identities they used on Earth 2…watch why those change when they get here…and see the choices they face.
It’s a layered puzzle, pulling on the rich history of the DC Universe…but even more on the potential for an explosively different lives in the New 52 universe…and over time, it’ll all pull together to affect the lives of so many…

As a writer, it’s a true joy to collaborate with star artists George Perez and Kevin Maguire, and to be able to design a series to fit their talents together as seamlessly as possible. And the heroines of WORLDS FINEST are simultaneously old friends (to me, as well as each other) and very new acquaintances that you want to grow closer to…if you can. They’re showing a lot of their true selves…but hiding even more.

Welcome to new worlds…and a totally new WORLDS’ FINEST.

Right now the most obvious change is Huntress since she feels like an amalgamation of both her pre-Crisis/post-Crisis incarnations (ie, her voice and personality = Helena Wayne, her aggressive fighting style and attitude = Helena Bertinelli), and we still know very little of Power Girl from what's been shown to us on Mr. Terrific. Right now Helena looks like she was raised more by Selina than by Bruce (or maybe she just thinks her mum's cooler).

On having different identities on Earth-2...I hope that just means they used different disguises as part of their JSA gigs and they weren't 'Batgirl' and 'Supergirl' on their world who were forced to adapt different identities on New 52 Earth when they realised they had counterparts there. I liked the fact that Helena became the Huntress following her mum's death since it gave her an independent identity from both her mum and dad from the get-go. Same with Power Girl. I liked that she chose the name 'Power Girl' to establish her independence from her cousin and not be in his shadow. The separate identities are part of what made these two characters unique in the first place.

Either way, I'm very much looking forward to this series. Not only do I get my Earth-2 OTP back in a book that they both front (a dream come true in my case), but it'll be really exciting to see what they do differently with these two characters this time around. In fact, I don't think I've ever been this excited to get a comic since Harley Quinn's solo series! It's enough to say if sexual orientation was a choice, this would be the one book to make me 110% gay!

The only thing I'm NOT excited about with this series is the inclusion of Kevin Maguire as an artist on this book. Love George Perez and know the characters are in good hands with him, but I really hate the way Maguire draws Peege! I wasn't fond of the fact that he made both Helena and Karen look really manly in the Superman/Batman issue they appeared in, but the way he draws Peege in particular is just bloody awful. Couldn't they have gotten Marcus To as the second artist on this book? Or if they wanted to keep the George Perez feel, couldn't they have gotten Jerry Ordway who has a better handle on these two characters? Kevin Maguire's art makes me a sad panda! :(

True, true--hence the benefit of the doubt.

And yeah, after google searching some of his stuff, his other PG stuff is a little more...tame, I think it has to do with the way she's posed. I just used that one because I felt in terms of pose, body type, and face it was probably the most feminine drawing of her he's done.
