Linkara Tackles Identity Crisis, I Analyse the Incredibles, and An Odd Dr Doom Cover
Firstly, the cover,

Linkara's Fifteen Things Wrong with Identity Crisis,
In addition, here's my analysis of the Incredibles, and how I don't think that it's actually about Objectivism, which seems to be the go-to interpretation of the film in certain circles,

EDIT: Yikes, people are getting personal against Linkara in the comments here, what gives?

I had to stop it and then watch it by fastforwarding through most of it. He needs to tone it down a notch or two. Hundred.

Linkara meanwhile moved to video after writing reviews on the Agony Booth, and has learned how to do it himself as he goes alone.
I like all three, personally. As well as Obscuras Lupa, Spoony, Nostalgia Critic and Todd in the Shadows.
Yeah I know that some people object to others liking the TGWTG crowd, but most of them are actually really funny. Others *CoughFilmBrainCough* not so much.

Also, Rap Critic (whom I discovered via Linkara) is rapidly becoming a fave of mine.

A guy can't help how his voice sounds. Hrrmph.

Ummm... of course he can, actors do it all the time, changing pitch, inflection, accent.

He's not an internet sensation, just a dude with a comic book blog. He caters to the fans he's gained and even abstains from cussing for the purposes of young viewers.

But that's not to say I think Linkara or any of the others should change their style; Doug Walker in particular has a handful of particular characters that are all distinctly him - the guy never really changes his appearance, but they all serve different purposes. And for their audience and medium, I think it works fine. Linkara clearly wouldn't work if he was, say, on a Siskel and Ebert style show. But he isn't.

Hardly. People do it all the time. I know I had to change the way I spoke when I moved from Scotland to England. My voice is fairly soft, my speech was rapid and my accent moderately strong. I had to learn to speak up, slow down and drop a number of common accent related phrases in order to be understood, no professional training involved, just practice.
I allow that he shouldn't HAVE to, and my dislike of his voice is a purely personal thing. But to address the more general point, altering your voice is something that can be done without professional training or input.

As Espanolbot mentioned earlier, the quality of these videos really depend on the creator's film experience. Spoony has film experience and equipment so generally his are of a higher quality.

Mod note

Re: Mod note
Won't judge you for doing it on your own time, will put on the frowns in order to keep s-d semi-polite.
Re: Mod note
I haven't even heard his "girl voice", and I suspect I won't be listening to many more of his pieces (I think I heard one or two of his Power Ranger reviews many moons ago), but as you sort-of say that's my issue, not his problem.
Re: Mod note
I stopped watching last year, truth be told. Around the time he didn't research how to pronounce "glow kester shire", maybe.
But that's another story!
