Well, this makes the whole cyclops thing incredibly awkward...

Cool new design though. :) I'd have thought that the Thames wouldn't be a great place for Poseidon to incarnate though, what with the pollution and submerged cars I'd have thought he'd dissolve in it.

The Thames is a very healthy river all things considered, with a wide variety of wildlife

The Thames is actually the cleanest metropolitan river in Europe. Dolphins have been reported as far up as London Bridge - they come up to prey on the fish.

Admittedly, I'm not sure it's deep enough for Poseidon's size... but it is tidal, so maybe he could arrange something.

(I'm also doubtful about hearing Big Ben from Tower Bridge. Do people think Tower Bridge is right next to the Palace of Westminster? I noticed in the first Sherlock Holmes movie that they ran from one to the other in a few minutes. They're not very close.)

I think their poses are drawn from this fountain at Piccadilly Circus: The Four Bronze Horses of Helios. Not in the same order, but I remember the sideways-tongue-out horse.

Is Diana being very literal here? Because in nautical parlance (The only time I've ever heard "Six bells" used) six bells isn't six o'clock

Well considering the Poseidon connection the nautical term kind of makes sense, even if the meaning isn't quite the same.

Considering that the Aquaman book has bee hinting about some drama concerning Arthur using Poseidon's trident, and the fact that Johns said that Arthur and Diana would be fast friends...I'd say it's possible.

This is neither snark nor sarcasm.

I'm just realizing -- again -- how effing wonderful it is to be part of the overall fannish community. The worldwide lovers of SF, fantasy, comics, computer games, anime, etc., etc., etc.

We see Lord Poseidon manifest in the Thames in front of Wonder Woman, and lo! the wonderful digressions and analyses begin. Poseidon's coming in from the wrong direction; the composition of the shore of the Thames is incorrect, likely based on out-of-context research photos; nautical time is used incorrectly. We have all the ancillary facts down, all the things that add to the verisimilitude, that make the sequence more real.

Because we're already good with the fact that an ancient Greek god, big as a skyscraper with the mug of a fish, is about to have a chat with a super-powered woman who was not born but sculpted. (Screw the new origin.)

Creators, don't get in the way of our fantasies with your bullshit that kicks us out of them.

Fear us, for we are well-read and educated.

Fear us, for our life experience is diverse and multi-faceted.

Fear us... THE DECONSTRUCTORS!

I'm going to have to go with no. It's not BAD, per se, but it does feel like either the artist is trying too hard to ape Chiang, or the people inking/coloring is changing it to look like that.
