Cass Vs. Lovecraftian Beasties

scans_daily Context: At the end of their previous mission, the JLElite were undercover investigating Coldcast's brother, who was involved in an alien drugring. As part of the ruse, Cass (under the guise of the assassin Kasumi) uses a copy of Shadowthief's belt to pretend to be a ninja who can merge with shadows.
So yeah, Cass is a girl playing a girl disguised as another girl.
Anyways, one thing leads to another, and the spaceship the team is in explodes. To save Coldcast (whose brother shot him in the stomach when he revealed that he wasn't a supervillain any more) and herself, Cass grabs him and uses her belt to phase out of reality, which accidentally uses all of the power and traps them there.
Unfortunately it turns out that Coldcast was mindcontrolled into killing a head of state (though the JLA don't know this), leading to them promptly arresting him and dissolving the team.

But who am I to judge, I still ship Tim/Steph, and after 20 ungratefull years, war games and fresh blood that boat is more a submarine than a ship.
