Seems that Mad, the more kid-orientated show based off of the magazine, has done a parody of Adventure Time, have a look see.


Ehhhh... Even if I weren't fan of the original, this still comes off as obnoxious.

AT is good dammit! It's one of the few shows for kids that have a female character that has a crush on one of the other female ones. Also John DiMaggio is awesome.

For legality, the introduction of Power Man. Hm, there's something DIFFERENT about him, I just can't place it.

Parts of it were cute, but, yeah, as a fan of AT, I'm in agreement with you, espanolbot. Large portions of it flat out seem obnoxious. Particularly the jab about other cartoonists 'whining and crying'.

It also seemed from their jabs at the voice acting (making Finn's voice sound even more like a little kid than the VA did at the show's start, and he was like 13 at the time!), animation style, and seemed to be under the impression that because it was a simple design choice that it was intended for a very young audience.

Which... is sort of true, but it isn't exactly Teletubbies either, for example, the Lich and the Magic Man are bloody terrifying!

Plus, you know, the postapocalyptic setting with the heaps of skulls and ruined cities everywhere.

That's one of MAD's things though, the obnoxiously jab at everything even themselves. Of course in this particular cartoon I didn't really find it funny, but some of the other stuff was cute and it did get a chuckle from me.

The scene with Cap and the Watcher was cool, it was a reference to a scene that Finn has with Abraham Lincoln in the original Adventure Time pilot, that was a nice touch.

I'm sorry, but the voice acting was too entertaining not to like this. Snarky supes are great.

(but discovering AT takes place on a horrific post-apocalyptic Earth is oe more i besides Johnny D voicing the dog.)
