Nightcrawler loves Meggan: The intro post!

This is Nightcrawler. You probably know of him.



This is Meggan. In case you don't know, she's an elf or a fairy or something who is IN LURVE with Captain Britain. Experts are unable to determine why.



This is Captain Britain. Here we see him talking about why he loves booze more than Meggan or the rest of the team. No, I'm being serious.



As you might have noticed, Meggan has self-esteem issues. Perhaps that explains it. Captain Britain is also cheating on her, but he doesn't know it's really with an evil extradimensional empress, so it's okay because it will cause him pain later. But back to Kurt/Meggan.

Kurt likes Meggan's bed.



And Meggan is from an alien culture with no nudity taboo.

Blue appeared in New Mutants Annual #6, part of the Days of Future Present (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Days_of_Future_Present) Annual event.

In the future the NM's visit, they come across a new, future team of New Mutants, whose membership includes Phoenix, (Rachel Summers), Scrapper (Franklin Richards), Magus (Doug Ramsey as a half insane half-technarch being) and two unknowns called Blaze and Blue. Blue is female, flies, teleports (With a "PAMF!" sound), has dark blue skin and long, flowing dark blue hair (much like Meggans). Her parentage is not specified, but Daddy is clearly Nightcrawler, and based on her other powers, Meggan seems a better bet than anyone.

Just before posting, I did a quick check, and it would seem the current consensus from Marvel is that her mother was actually Amanda Sefton, but at the time, Kurt wasn't dating Amanda, was close to Meggan and her powers seem to have no link to Amanda, I'm still going with the theory the original intent was that she was Kurt and Meggan's.

Meggan didn't come from an alien culture, she was a gypsy child who due to her empathic shapechanging ability grew up looking more like the Man-Bat so was generally stuck in a caravan all day watching soap operas.

In retrospect, even though Kurt liked and respected Meggan, he wasn't really as "serious" about her as he thought he was. Kurt was lonely and sad that the X-Men were "dead." And Meggan was really, really hot.

Kurt may have admired Meggan, but Brian and Meggan were in love with each other.

Now there is some well written chemistry. I had never considered that pairing before, but now it seems to really fit.

Where IS Meggan these days, anyhow? And is Nightcrawler still with Amanda Sefton? I wonder if it's not too late for a second chance for these two.

Nice of you to forget to mention Brian was under a hex by Merlyn that made him act like a incompetent douche because without it the team wouldn't of lasted. This was the explanation Davis provided for why he was written so wildly out of character by Claremont.

He also chastises himself for lusting after her. Kurt's always been the kind for keeping a clean house, morally. That's why I can totally see him wanting to become a priest - to strive for moral perfection. Of course, his biggest problem turned out not to be lusting for women, but that he couldn't stop beating people up.

Hey now, don't you be dissin' The Captain! The Captain is cool! More importantly, The Captain took her in and gave her a home when she was basically a monster, and helped her become the shimmering beauty she is today, so it's hardly surprising that she feels such a deep bond with him.
Moreover, one of the things I've always liked about Brian is that, while he has faults - boy oh boy, does he ever have faults! - he is fully aware of them, and struggles against his temper and impatience on a regular basis. In a following issue after the 'jungle gym' scene here, in fact, he has a heartfelt discussion with Kurt where he admits his flaws, and apologizes for being such a jerk. (Of course, this comes right after a scene where he FLIPS OUT and BREAKS KURT'S LEG, but still - an apology's an apology.) It's this contrast between his lower emotions and his noble instincts that makes him such an interesting character.
(Incidentally, if you disagree with me and reply to this post in order to argue the point, please do NOT cite something that has happened in the 'MI13' series. I have the first collection of that on order, and I do NOT want any part of it spoiled in advance, so please please please cite some other example from his long history instead. Thank you.)
