A bit of fun from the era when Babs was a congresswoman in Washington, DC.
(Detective Comics #483, 1979. 4 pages from a 12-page story.)

The story opens at the Lincoln Memorial, where Batgirl (with the help of a military SWAT unit) takes on a terrorist group called the Society for the Advancement of Everyone (no, really). Most of the terrorists are captured, but the leader escapes, and one of the goons makes a crack about Batgirl having "16-to-1" odds of stopping their next attack. After it's all over, a soldier named Rod Stromer nervously approaches Batgirl...

Batgirl's not actually mad, she's just obsessing over that "16-to-1" clue. And when they drive past the Washington Monument, she finally makes the connection: It's a reference to the 16th president (Lincoln) and the 1st president (Washington) -- the SAE's next target is the Washington Monument! They use Rod's car to crash through the barricaded front door, and the two of them make quick work of the terrorists.

VICTORY SEX: IMMINENT.

Alas, I don't think Rod ever appeared again. But he certainly fits right in with Babs' penchant for adorkable men of action (Dick, Ted).

I instantly thought of Babs' "date" with Clark Kent.

Say WHAT now? I believe the phrase is "Scans or it didn't happen"

I don't have the scans, but I'm sure someone is willing to.

Basically, if I remember right, Superman was going a little crazy, so Batman had Barbara keep an eye on him, and that includes going on a date with Clark. As I recall, the date was more than a little awkward.
